I agree. I would never buy a house that had an HOA. It’s like having a condo board for your house. Who wants that? I live in a nice neighborhood and there are no “car farms” or people tenting. I do recall when we were building that we had to run our exterior color selections through some community association so I

Not to mention it jacks up your loan too because the HOA fees is added into the overall equation.

That doesn’t seem far off. I been looking for a house recently and even my realtor was very hesitant when showing me properties. “This home has almost everything you’re looking for, unfortunately it’s in an HOA though....” Just the dues at right around $200/month would cost me $12k over the 5 years I’ll be here and

live under the tyranny

Personally having all the homes matching in a neighborhood is a dangerous game when you’re trying to find your house very late at night. This is what I’ve been told.

The math is more simple than that. Two identical houses in the same town, one with $XXX/year in HOA fees, the other without... The same buyer can’t afford as big a mortgage for the one in the HOA, and thus the house ends up with a lower value.

HOAs definitely lower property value. They make it difficult to sell homes ifthey are run by a poor management company. But anytime I see an HOA I immediately deduct the fees from the homes along price. HOAs basically add 100k+ to whatever home you are attempting to purchase. It’s a suckers bargain.

This is the correct answer to those who thought a HOA was a good idea when they bought or rented.

Never buy in a neighborhood with an HOA.

Oh man, they didn’t read the policy that would be enacted in the FUTURE?

To Whom It May Concern:

HOAs are cancer

This is...monumentally stupid.

HOA...Hopelessly Obtrusive and Asinine!

One of the many reasons I hate HOA’s.

HOAs need to die.

Extra points for not only the car make, but the use of celsius as well.

You should also mention that when you get into your car, turn it on, and start the defrosters - DO NOT - just turn try and immediately turn the wipers on. There’s a little transmission between the wiper motor and your wiper arm/blades and this is a very easy way to FUBAR it. It doesn’t take much ice (or frost even

“Do you know how hard it is to find a windshield for a Neon?”

In his defense, storing anything other than gas in a gas can is not a wise move. Unless it had huge labels on it.
