Thank you for this article, really well-written and inspiring. I was never obese, but I was definitely overweight in high school and college. I hated sports and exercise in general, the only thing I could make myself do was marching band because I love to play music and I got to hang out with my friends all the time.

I have to say, that's the first I've heard of too much ginger being a miscarriage risk (which seems to be true of a number of herbs, especially if steeped into tea form rather than eaten in a meal), but thankfully I never had large quantities of ginger, and since I'm not a fan of it anyway once morning sickness

I miss it too, in my case I developed GERD, so anything acidic, especially citrus, is out for the most part :( Grapefruit is one of my favorite things in the world, so I has a sad. Stupid stomach.

For morning sickness I found organic ginger ale from Trader Joe's, which has actual ginger rather than the flavored syrup in the kind from the regular grocery store, helped quite a bit, but it was best to let it go a bit flat first. I tried ginger tea and it unfortunately just didn't do that much for me. I actually

These are all good tips, but often just aren't feasible for a lot of people. For myself, I'm now 34 and expecting my first child, and while I did a lot of saving in my 20's, it was mostly towards the end of those 10 years when for a time, I had no social life whatsoever. When you just sit in your apartment and chat

Huh, interesting, I had different, definitely digestive, symptoms of intolerance (I do get mild migraines but from atmosphere pressure rather than anything food-related), it took me close to a year to figure out that the problem was lactose. I didn't want to give up dairy so I also tried large amounts of yogurt and

Yogurts in general though are pretty low in lactose. I'm lactose intolerant now and I take a Lactaid before eating yogurt as a precaution, but I've forgotten to take it before and had virtually no ill effects from yogurt. I also don't need Lactaid with most cheeses, which is nice.

I loved cow's milk (1% or skim generally) until starting about two years ago, it no longer loved me. I didn't want to have to constantly take Lactaid (though I do for ice cream and cream-based soups and such where I know milk was used) so I started trying alternatives. Something about soy milk upsets my stomach as

I'm a little surprised cloudy vs. clear urine wasn't addressed here. Cloudy urine can also indicate excess protein, as well as a possible infection like a UTI, and is something to watch out for if you're pregnant (which I currently am). BTW, UTI antibiotics will turn your pee a dark orange (had one in high school).

I grew up in Cincinnati and so grew up loving Greater's (especially the caramel, OMG), but when I moved to Columbus and tried Jeni's...I'm sorry, there was no going back. Don't get me wrong, I still love Greaters (I mean, come on, it's ice cream, what's not to love?) but Jeni's is even creamier (which personally I

Husband and I are animator/video people so we actually just paid our videographer for the raw footage and edited the final thing ourselves and made a set of Blu-rays (with a nice big still photo gallery) for just ourselves and our parents (since they're the only ones that really cared about it besides us). Obviously

Honestly, I really wish Nintendo had just released a faster, HD-capable Wii without trying to stack extra gimmicks like that weird controller on top of it. If they had released an HD Wii capable of playing the games for Wii I already own IN HD (which we all know can be done - re: Dolphin emulator - despite what

Actually it's not about the bride (hi, I was one not too long ago), it's about your families. You're hosting the largest and most important party of your life, and it's more of a tribute to all the people who've helped get you to where you are rather than being about YOU. Can it be insanely expensive? Yes? Does it

Wow, this was a really touching read, as a recently married person (it'll be 2 years this year) it's amazing how much I can relate to the things described in here. We didn't have to sell things to pay for our wedding, but to move in together, and then later buy a home together? Many personal things had to be

DA's print quality is excellent, I've ordered a number of posters through them. Nice, thick paper and great color.

Hello Mr. Musk, thank you for taking the time to answer our questions! A few months ago I saw an interview that you'd given and a clip was shown of a panel of veteren Apollo astronauts basically saying that commercial space was a bad idea for NASA to support, that it too dangerous and unproven. Since the success of

This just happened this week at my work, someone had put a can of Dr. Pepper in the communal refrigerator's freezer, then someone else took it out and put it in the back of the fridge. BOOM, it exploded like a bomb all over everything in the fridge, it was nasty. Sharp aluminum shards and chunks of frozen soda

Actually when it comes to movies with a lot of CGI effects (as so many have now) I'm not sure the difference in cost between 24fps and 48fps would really be negligible. With live action you just film a person moving; you increase the frame rate to create a "slow mo" effect of various degrees, but it's a matter of

@Benny Gesserit: That applies in the States too, I always use the code on the sticker. It's quick, easy and most importantly accurate. Using the photo list is almost useless, it's too easy to pick the wrong thing.
