No, no it’s not.

I do not have the right words for how on-the-nose this is.

Holy crap, this is a page full of nothing but truth.

My white trash roots...

The classical music festival and the pizza fest kind of do invite comparisons to Fyre Festival, but the rest, forget it.

Wow. That sucks.

Huh. Yeah, they may all be something else in Canada.

I was the only one who brought up a Y even in the comments, so I’m going to allow myself the luxury of judginess.

Dehumanizing stare.

Oh, whoa, I googled “YMHA Canada” and there is a Young Men’s Hindu Association. I’m so white...

Per the Wikipedia page, they do exist in Canada:

Oh, and another reason I brought up the Ys which also has nothing to with your post, the author of this article is going on a rant about “community services” like she never heard of a Y, of any religion or gender. I was like, “This exists!!! Right now!!! Everywhere!!! And white suburban people use it! Are you that out

Also, there are YWCAs and YMHAs (H is for Hebrew), and YWHAs. Maybe not in your area, though. Y isn’t always about “Men’s” and “Christian”.

There’s a YMHA in center city Philadelphia (the Gershman Y). Also, the 92nd Street Y in Manhattan has a whole section on “Jewish Life” so I’m pretty sure it was a YMHA or YWHA, although I can’t find those initials anywhere on its home page.

I keep looking into joining as an adult but I just don’t think I could justify the expense, even for the “old lady pilates” classes they offer and the lap swimming. But it was a staple for my family when I was growing up. The one we belonged to was a converted estate that used to belong to the family of the artist

Where are you? The ones I’ve belonged to have swimming lessons, swim teams, health/exercise classes and day care. I wouldn’t even know where to look for sexism.

Cheaper than this for-profit “community hub”, I’m guessing.

Sorry for tangentializing on your post!

What’s wrong with the Y? C’mon, people.

Yeah, I mean, I work in a place with cubicles. I wouldn’t be able to hack the greasies for the “adjustment period”, even assuming it would ever end, which I would not trust that it would.
