Maybe he took lessons from Robert Durst.

*sigh*, actually TheRoot existed elsewhere and was brought under the Gawker umbrella by their new owners.

I read it all. Good story. <3

Yes.

I follow the Wildcat Sanctuary (I swear I’m not being paid to mention them) and the videos and pics they post of the cats in their rescue look so snorgleable and plush! Which is wrong, they should be wild at heart etc. etc.

I follow The Wildcat Sanctuary (in Sandstone, MN) and they come out against this, cub petting, captive breeding and private ownership of big cats. I guess if someone has never heard it before and they are hearing it for the first time from PETA... well.

According to the shelter records, she’s 5 or 6. I’m going to try some dry shampoo and/or brushing today, because she’s getting braver. It’s also about time I betrayed her fragile new trust in me, stuffed her in a carrier, and took her to the vet.

I adopted a 22.5 pound porker from a shelter a few weeks ago. (I actually first adopted this skinny 16 year old whose owner had died and then I got a call saying that oh, there was another cat and it was the owner’s dying wish... ok, ok).

As long as they’re not using “plead” as a past tense, I’m happy.

Yeah, I’m not voting for a 78-year-old person no matter who they are.

Speaking of not understanding local customs, I shocked a police officer in Spain in 2013 because I made a left turn off a local road into a gas station. Apparently all decent people drive a little further down the road, loop around the traffic circle and come back up and make a right turn.

I think you and I are the only people who care about defuse vs diffuse.

*snerk*

I feel your pain. I just read a local news story about a teen flash mob and it said “the crowd eventually disbursed.” Kill me.

Is Cheryl’s assessment of his version of Kermit as a bitter, angry, depressed victim borne out in the movies? I mean, the one note he gave that the article gives as an example is kind of the opposite of that, IMO.

Me neither. But I thought his voice was real pretty.

LOL trying to call the USA progressive on slavery. England ended slavery without having to fight a war, and they did it decades before the Emancipation Proclamation. Also, it could be equally argued that Americans fought a war to keep slavery going.

I was already pissed off at the attention this story was getting, and that makes me even madder. Make a fucking effort, people.

Seriously. I saw it shared on Facebook and was like “this is bogus clickbait.” And then reputable news sources started picking it up! Somebody on NPR killed the theory flat, but why was NPR discussing it in the first place.

What did one potato chip say to the other?
