There was America’s Funniest Home Videos in the 80's. Before that, I don’t know.

My town is going crazy and I just refinanced my HELOC, so when when houses got sold within a block of me, not only did I snoop daily, I discussed it with my next door neighbors. I am shameless.
I had a similar thought, but less articulate.
Jesus, those things across the street. Holy shit.
The jury of Minnesota taxpayers let Yanez off. I wish they felt more of a tax bite on this settlement.
I didn’t realize stuff like this was newsworthy. In my day (70"s-early 80"s) there were times the pool was so heavily chlorinate that my vision would be cloudy for an hour or so afterward. I also remember at least one time when practice was canceled because the pool laws too chlorinated and the kids from the practice…
Yeah, that showed a lack of imagination on the part of the writers, imo.
In the past they were mean because they really, really WANTED something (the presidency, mostly). I think that’s it. And there was a bit of shame. This time the wanting and the meanness don’t seem to be connected to each other.

“Investigators were unable to determine if the passengers died when the elevator hit the bottom of the shaft or when the counter weight fell and crushed the elevator.”
Should’ve spent those millions on a sprinkler system.
You only make the effort for white people. And nobody here is buying your bullshit.
I have read your comment history. You only seem to post on the Root to defend white people or criticize black POV. So really, you only think this kind of statement is worth denouncing if it’s said about white people. Get out of here with your false “fairness” bullshit.
How about, “I wouldn’t piss on them if they were on fire”? Fragile, fragile, fragile. It’s only wrong if THEY say it.
I’m going to be preaching a sermon this summer about how the concept of equality is misused in this way to reinforce institutional power structures.
Thank you, hachi. I’m sorry he interrupted your conversation. He does tend to wander off.
I am very happy that first two comments on this article talk about the need for adequate medical support and are actively not victim blaming.
