Basic Soviet and American weapons philosophy for World War Two: If it can't, essentially, be built and operated by a Hillbilly, forget about it. The A-bomb doesn't count 'cause it was a World War Three weapon.
Using public transit to commute, I am always amazed when car commuters complain that they get no value from it and, therefore, should not help finance it. What if all those folks jammed on to the train were in cars on the roads? Yikes.
In general, I think driving should include skills in skid control, hard braking, evasive maneuvering, etc. It pains me that the big concern for new drivers is parallel parking - knowing that they'll probably consistently over-drive road conditions and lock up, and slide in, when something jumps out in front of them.…

Perhaps if he'd been VIIBLE as an ESCORT his presence may have kept things a bit less confrontational? Ya' know, that "peace…
I think that this applies on the street too these days, perhaps even more so. Something like: "Who cares if I run a red light while speeding. My crumple zones and multiple airbags will protect ME if I hit something/someone."
Five "A's" of Sales Process: Approach, Analysis, Advise, Answer any objections, Always closing.
"Klink, shut up!" (General Burkhalter) Favourite recurring line ever from a TV show.
Thus illustrating that GDP is a poor metric?
"Conventional missiles" are commonly topped with nuclear warheads. A nasty biproduct of their use would be extensive, long lasting, global radiation contamination. Also, missile defence systems are constantly improving. The 1908 Tunguska "event" in Russia flattened an area radiating out about twenty miles from ground…
Couldn't an asteroid in lunar orbit be accelerated for use as a ballistic weapon against targets on Earth? Granted, you'll know it's coming for a few days, but how are you going to stop it?
From the Yugoslav movie "Black Cat, White Cat". During the course of the film the pig can be seen steadily devouring the car's (Trabant) "organic" bodywork.
