I have never seen a "Storm is Coming" SuperCut before... Thanks!
Well there goes the fucking neighborhood...
+1 to this.
I'm not necessarily against Sony myself, as I used to be a veritable Sony fanboy...
I still believe Sony makes good products, however a consistent trend in Sony product lines has been proprietary technology ruining the experience for people that have non-Sony devices in their setups. Betamax, ATRAC Audio, Memory…
I get dumb looks from my Mother-in-law *all* the time because I'll joke about stuff that I think is obvious and she has no idea WTF I'm talking about.
Last week my wife and I made reservations with the in-laws at a nice restaurant for Friday. The day before we stopped by for a short visit and I asked her if they had…
Yeah, I've been there. Sucks to work with people that don't know the difference between making jokes and being an ass.

Right, I get that, but the dimmer should be what gets hot, not the receptacle.
Legality aside, what are the actual risks of putting a dimmer on an outlet not specifically rated as dimmable?
I'm no electrician, but it seems to me that your average outlet would be capable of this anyway. I imagine a GFCI circuit may not work correctly, though.
So many people are going to have no idea what you are referring to.. :)
