In a game, isn't keeping the frame rate up while improving the level of detail a performance improvement?

The hype is related to the density of the pixels, not the resolution. As far as I know, there isn't a monitor on the market that offers a similar pixel density. The density allows for an experience equivalent to the smoothness of the printed page. No discern able pixels, sharper text, pictures tha look like

That was the case on the original iPad, too. That has more to do with aspect ratio than resolution. If you wanted, you could always full screen any video you want to watch, you'll just lose part of the picture on the sides.

Because that's working really well for Android tablets, and Apple is having trouble selling iPads.

If you can run Mountain Lion on your computer, you can play MKVs on your AppleTV.

couldnt you AirPlay Hulu when Mountain Lion comes? Not saying your setup is wrong, but it seems it might be less trouble than connecting your laptop every time you want to watch iTunes content.

They managed to work out the licensing with the studios. The feature is new as of today. They managed to get TV shows sometime over the summer. I figured this had to be next.

dont you also need a Gold subscription to Xbox Live to use Netflix?

Agreed. My first gen iPad is set to go hand-me-down. It's served me well, but I'm getting the gadget lust.

Yeah, because you know... The iPad 2 and the 4s feel so sluggish at half that amount. Certainly gunning for the middle. /s

Nice, insightful comment. I would have used the OptiBay solution in my own MBP, but I decided to make my own. Great product.

I'm with wtmakbc. I've installed additional HDDs in Mac Minis, Mac Pros, and MacBooks. Upgrade/expand ability aren't the sovereign domain of Windows machines. The iMac just happens to be an all in one machine. I don't know of any Windows all in ones that make it easy to install an additional drive.

Yes. It would. Just like the higher pixel density of the iPhone 4 did. Even at the above resolution, the iPad will still be less dense, but held at the distance a tablet is typically held at, it will be a big difference.

Taht's dependent on the distance from which the screen is viewed. From a normal television viewing distance, you're right. Held from arms length or less, you're wrong.

Thank you. It's funny that all these downers act like everything to know is out in the open already. I don't remember Wednesday passing yet.

The part about Wednesday is fair. But I'm willing to bet it will be a week tops before it's available in US stores. I'm also thinking that there will be some launch partners with HD apps. Apps that aren't HD will do what 3Gs apps did on the iPhone 4. While not a perfect solution, it'll be enough for the short term.

When can a person buy the transformers ad infinity? Wednesday?

I'm pretty sure I've seen a flyer for a show featuring Bloody Stool and Erectile Disfunction.

    Ah-thank you!
