The article already states that it doesn't use micro USB for anything besides charging. I'm not positive, but from my experience, a stereo jack provides better sound fidelity than Bluetooth, and since that's what it relies on, I'd say there's a good reason to want the jack.

The ambient light sensor turns off when you turn the screen off. The IR doesn't. It's a battery life situation, from what I understand.
This isn't the same proximity sensor that was found in other iPhones. It's a constantly on IR LED that's next to the ambient light sensor. Hasn't been on an iPhone before the 4S.
How about this... I just watched it on my iPad. Which doesn't have Flash. I could do that because it's perfectly possible for the same content to be delivered over HTML5. And it doesn't require a browser plugin. And it's less resource intensive. So, I guess it doesn't suck for iOS users.
