Dennis Leary is horrible as the pitchman for one of the full sized truck venders. I don't know which one, as his sales work is so annoying that I'm blocking it even now. Celine Dion is Canadian though, so I'm not claiming he is as bad. I don't recall any of the Celine ads, which is nice.

@pauljones: At its best, Punk was a reaction to hair bands that didn't involve rap or people under contract to Disney. In other words, I like the music but find the culture to be about as constructive as using daddy's credit card to chase the G-20 summits with a suitcase full of leftist banners.

There are better programmers scavenging cans out of my trash than there are supporting this platform.

Gawker is where people who can't program go to program.

I would just like to take this opportunity to point out that Gawker is the worst piece of IT currently extant.

@Jackie: You can hire a roving band of undocumented car detailers with driveway service to do your dirty work for you. It will be the best $80 you ever spend. Use cash.

@Porschephile: If anyone involved were a man, they wouldn't be shopping for a car based on the special paint finish.

@toshiro_mifune: I'm just glad it was an '80s song. Bitchin BMW 335i just doesn't have the same ring.

Cars aren't punk, but especially not the Camaro in the Milkmen's Bitchin Camaro. Did anyone bother to listen to the song? They HATE the kind of guy the song is about.

How remarkable is it that the Mustang still exists? Ford sold about 600,000 Explorers a year and managed to destroy their market like a rear ended Pinto. The Ford Taurus was the dawn of a new day for Detroit, and the best seller right up until Ford decided ovals were what people cared about more than roominess,

@Scotty_Beezle: I tuned into Community because of Joel McHale. Based on his work on the Soup, I thought he was funny and personable. It is his acting and the writing on Community that I hate, not Joel McHale himself. Chevy Chase has been a zombie for years though. His current form should be more frightening for

@Scotty_Beezle: We are not living in the golden age of situation comedies, but I would rather watch Modern Family, the Office, Cougar Town, The Big Bang Theory, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Two and Half Men, Reno 911, or Curb Your Enthusiasm. The only ones I go out of my way to watch are Modern Family and the

@pinkshinyalan: I think that was a commentary on the quality of the cars GM were selling in such large quantities, leading to the best selling Tauruses, which in turn caused the best selling Accords and Camrys ever since.

@Scotty_Beezle: I admire your sarcasm. The season finale with a melodramatic McHale moping over having to pick between his female classmates was kind of interesting, but only because of the questions it raised about why it was ever made and why nobody stopped it from being aired.

If BMW can screw up paint this badly, just think about what it means for the durability of all the other emerging technology garbage they're using to pump up the weight of the ultimate Jersey Shore cruising machines.

I disagree with the absurd claim that punk is infused with automobile appreciation. I love punk music, but any references to cars are just a vehicle for complaining about people who have things that punks don't. The Dead Milkmen didn't have Bitchin Camaros. The over-privileged straights they were mocking did. English

Chevy Chase was brilliant, but he self-lobotomized over a decade ago. He couldn't read a knock-knock joke now. He has all the comic timing of Oprah. Community is almost as good as his talk show was. Community is so awful that one wonders how Joel McHale feels entitled to make fun of anyone else on The Soup. If he

@Spinnetti: I don't really share your view of what constitutes a free ride. Personally, I think the cars that are inherently slower but get huge concessions to make them competitive are the free riders. Did you ever follow Speed World Challenge? Several years ago, I found all the homologation papers published on line.

@Spinnetti: How have Hondas gotten a free ride in racing? Serious question.

@humjaba: That only became the point of the IOE in recent races. It used to be the award for doing the most with the least. Remember contenders like the Quantum wagon and the Festiva? You don't have to go back too far to find a decorated but stock LeCar winning it. Now, rather suddenly, it has become the award for
