@Matt Hardigree: The Rampage was actually about the most powerful minipickup of the day. 94hp FTW. Sure, a FWD car chassis wasn't the answer for towing and rutted job sites, but they weren't bad at all if you owned a pool cleaning business. Unfortunately for makers of carpickups, not too many people own pool

I'm going with the Saab 900. They were terrible in the '80s, and they essentially killed their maker. Combining high price with poor performance(the naturally aspirated ones were amoung the slowest cars on the road and the turbos needed head work) and abismal reliability, these cars had only one redeeming feature.

@rev_junkie: Ironically, both cars you mentioned must have been approved for production because of the Olds-engined Chevy Nova known as the first generation Cadillac Seville. Since the reality was so humble, Cadillac protected their econo car's perceived value by pricing it above their traditional offerings. The

@BullittFan_Førds4Life: Reløaded: Not look to foreign powers for leadership like the imbeciles that voted for Obama aspired to? It was particularly pathetic of the Brits to join the new car subsidy program considering they don't have a domestically owned auto industry, having given in to union corruption completely a

This can only bode well for triborough sales of Cadillacs and Nissans.

This is a small idiot tax paid to the climate change gods relative to carbon charge schemes. People need to wise up, or continue to see politicians waste their futures in the name of something they have no control over.

A Bentley Continental is just a pimped out VW Phaeton. There isn't any way to make it worse.

@theeastbaykid: GM's system wide woes include union suppliers. You really need to listen to [www.thisamericanlife.org] before you claim it wasn't as much labor's fault as anyone's that US cars are a joke. NUMMI is the only Toyota factory to ever close, and also their only union final assembly plant. Give the UAW a

No matter how bad the timing, concept, and styling were, I think the P76 was ultimately undone by British quality.

If the Mark VI had 200 hp in 1983, it would have ruled the street. The car magazines, which at the time were staffed by people who knew their asses from the elbows, would have been pitting a 200 horse 1983 Lincoln against Ferrari 308s, Porsche 928s and Jaguar XJ-Ss, should one have existed.

@BullittFan_Førds4Life: Reløaded: So the UAW destroying the only Toyota factory to ever close is political rather than automotive news while Hardigree boasting gleefully about Beck fans falling for a parking trap is something other than crap? Your colon is obscuring your view.

@BullittFan_Førds4Life: Reløaded: Why don't you listen to the right wing propaganda on NPR's This American Life to learn the realities of the thugs you'll sacrifice the country's future for:

NUMMI closed yesterday, another victim of the UAW. This is much more worthy of coverage though.

@lbreevesii: Fat people are probably less likely to die in accidents because of their sedentary lifestyles. If they have an accident, they're more likely to get hurt. It doesn't mean that they're more likely to have accidents. I got hit by a truck a few weeks ago while riding my bike when I should have been safely

If I were stupid and boring I'd drive a Porsche 911 to try and compensate. It would be a Porsche instead of something smart and interesting because I wouldn't know any better.

@kstokes: There is that. I've driven a 2004 TSX automatic, and it is a great balance of merging power and 34 mpg while crossing states at 80 mph.

Mind you it isn't a 5 year old car in any sense. Wes' view is obscured by his colon and he didn't notice that this wagon is based on a different generation of European Honda Accord than was around in 2005. Basically, their Accords were similar to our 2004-2008 Acura TSXs. In 2005, the diesel wagon also cost about

@senorducklives: Beck fans seem to think they still have 1st amendment rights after Obama was elected. That is pretty dense. The good Nazis of gawker are happy because they have their right of complicity. I'd say Hardigree should stick to writing about cars, but some character flaws are so big that they transcend any
