@Tyson: It would certainly allow me to test my theory about open differential AWD cars that have been reposessed. Those places usually have multiple full time repo men on their payrolls. They do the volume to make it cheaper than paying a service. Everybody rides!

@Tyson: Don't buy an AWD car that has been reposessed! Or any used one that doesn't have an open center differential for that matter. I think that limits you to pre-'86 Audis.

@pauljones: It isn't like he put a parking ticket on a car with a corpse behind the wheel. Car and Driver ran a story about the latest repo trucks. Repomen can grab a car without ever leaving the cab of their tow trucks if they've got a Jerr-Dan Element. I just wonder what it does to transmissions and parking brakes

@Michael_GR: The 407 looks like a bottom feeding fish. Were it any uglier, it would be related to Nancy Pelosi. The SR1 just looks generic.

That doesn't look at all like a Peugeot, which is the highest compliment it is going to get.

@Saboth: I wonder if they share your level of self awareness. What is wonderful about a Raptor or M3 as a daily driver? They're both considerably worse than most large SUVs on the street. And the chance that they're used for anything other than posing is just as small as the chance that someone is going to drive from

This blog is schizophrenic. The writers bitch about vehicles purchased by families who want to combine their actual needs with a bit of extra capability and then celebrate the completely useless in the real world SVT Raptor. As long as I'm not paying for other people's SUVs, I don't give a fig. They don't get worse

@SerialThriller: GM was in business to make money. Now they are in business to transfer your tax dollars to Obama's union backers.

@doug-g: He is in for a real treat. Being insanely rich and having to drive GM cars would be at least as much of a sacrifice as staying loyal to his wife would have been.

This will have been a tragedy if she loses her looks in the big house.

@snapoversteer 'bout to get told: It is all relative. Colleges are 'competitive' because everyone gets an A for showing up and feeling good about themselves throughout grade school. Today's A- college students are the dropouts of the '80s.

If this thing kills George Clooney I'll have to reverse my view of electric cars.

@HurtsSoGood: Anyone who is still awake has bailed on AARP endorsed scams ever since it became clear that the AARP only cares about the AARP and not its constituents.

@baldheadeddork: Today's 'teabaggers' are a media creation to distract sheep like you from the fact that they are actually the remaining Americans who learned their civics lessons and understand that the US prospers as a constitutional democracy. The Constitution isn't just about setting criminals free. The important

@Fedaykin528: BMW was like a religion for me over a 20 year stretch. Lived and learned.

@zeeboid: At least you saw what I did there.

@Fedaykin528: I think the 745i badge was based on some racing series' equivalency formula, where turbo cars carried a 1.4x multiplier for displacement. The new one would be a 742i under that convention. Basically nothing about BMWs makes sense anymore. Hopefully some other make will get around to filling the void of

@Shift5G: I think the problem started with the US market E21 320i in 1979. BMW had stopped production of the 2 liter M10 in favor of a 2 liter version of the M20 6-cylinder. As a result, US market 320is from 1979-1983 were powered by 1.8 liter M10s. When the E30 came out in 1984, they finally changed the name to

@tonyola: I had a '76 124 Sport Spider with the 1756 cc engine. The smog gear had been stripped, racing cams had been added, and that is about all I know about the engine other than that it had been apart before I got it. IIRC, International Auto said the cams produced power from 6,500 to 9,000 rpm. It screamed, and

@BullittFan_Førds4Life: Reløaded: The thing you don't understand is that the Tea Party consists precisely of the responsible members of society who never would have protested anything until they perceived that their way of life was under threat. Poking fun at them only shows that you're a lost cause. These are the
