“You must come to a time and place of my choosing” sounded extra bitchy to me, especially since no one involved even asked him to have a dialogue.

I didn’t say it was a good look. But if this generates any increased revenue for him or Netflix, I think we’ll see plenty of comedians and networks riding the “anti woke/libs tried to cancel us” wave in an attempt to attract right wing audiences in the future. It’s gross, but that’s showbiz.

Attention.

Yeah, he’s on tour now and is literally using the fallout from the Netflix special as material for his standup. I’m unsure how people could look at the timing and everything else together and not see how the whole thing was a publicity stunt.

Kind of a lukewarm to cold take, honestly.

One thing I found powerful about the recent Gaugin exhibit at the Arts Institute of Chicago was that they didn’t separate the art from the artist. They showcased all of his work alongside accounts of his child marriages, abuse, racism, and the deleterious effect of tourists like him on Tahitian culture. It was a

Well then you’re gonna LOVE the top story they featured, especially the 10 paragraphs of exposition about newspaper delivery routes!

That was really good, and should’ve been the lead story instead of the War & Peace length novel exploring the ins and outs of newspaper delivery that we got.

I doubt it has anything to do with producers finding her “obnoxious.” She’s clearly been very successful in the action movie franchise sphere (those Underworld movies make ungodly amounts of money for being such cheap productions) and she wouldn’t be getting this much work if she was difficult to work with. In all

I’m used to it. Jezebel appeals to a very middle of the road libfem audience, and the highest rated comments often contain these exact blind spots because they mirror the blind spots of the readership.

That too. I think people are just reaching for excuses to be bitchy in the comments because an attractive woman dared to admit to being intelligent and it made them feel insecure and they don’t want to unpack that.

Right? I’m not even a fan of this woman but these comments radiate cunty insecure mean girl vibes. Making fun of her fillers? Judging her by the men she dated? Freaking out that she *gasp* mentioned her IQ when someone asked? It’s hard to identify a source for this much vitriol toward some random unproblematic

She’d be worth way less than $25 million then, which would indeed be dumb. The competition for roles is stiff even for shit movies and they’re getting paid regardless. God forbid someone do their job.

I know, the comments are so bizarrely vicious over someone answering a question about their IQ when asked. I can only assume people have hangups about their own intelligence to react so negatively.

I find it weird to judge actors for the quality of the movies they appear in when they have so little control over that. Like everyone else, they take on work that fits their schedule and pays decently. They aren’t involved in the editing, production or anything else that makes the final product good or bad. She’s had

How is it a sign of low intelligence to get fillers when you work in an industry that ruthlessly judges older women? This is a shitty take.

I posted a comment asking people not include too many extraneous details, and someone strongly disagreed with me and said the details made them feel like the story was real and verifiable. After reading the first story, I stand by my opinion. I did not need 10 paragraphs(!) of exposition explaining how newspaper

Aww, thank you! Some of these comments had me tripping.

Hey, it was just a joke. I hope he’s not a sensitive snowflake who can’t handle edgy comedy!

The question itself is a pointless non sequitur. Movies take what, a couple months to film tops? These people have no relationship to each other beyond that. If you told me someone I worked with five years ago for a few months had committed a horrible crime, my only thought would be “whoa that sucks, I used to work
