Even so, any little bit of info would've been golden, considering their position. I would have hooked his balls up to a battery to get that info out, even if I was his dad. This is very true. It's true of any movie this far before the release date that the score hasn't been finished yet, probably not even started yet, so they borrow from another movie, generally a popular one that already has emotions attached to it that they're hoping you'll associate at least subconsciously.

We will always use paper, the same way that people still like to use straight razors with shaving brushes or play vinyl records. Maybe not a lot of it, but it has a tactile 'real' quality that people will always cherish. At least I hope so.

I agree (somewhat) wholeheartedly. For example, we didn't need John McClane's origin story to enjoy Die Hard, or Sarah Connor's, or Luke Skywalkers and so on.
