Yep. I for years thought it was the perfect "stupid law suit" example until I learned the actual facts of the case — for the most part, it just takes showing someone images of the burns the woman received to realize that the coffee was insanely, even criminally, hot.

They read it and think "What an idiot to think her coffee wouldn't be hot," without realizing the coffee was something like 30 degrees hotter than it was supposed to be and she needed skin grafts to repair her third degree burns that melted through her clothing.
