Agreed, but his games are just as limiting as movies. Just because we can control a character between cutscenes doesn’t make his games any more freeform than a movie or show. He has the same limiting aspect that Rockstar has with their games, but god damn he needs to just make a proper immersive sim.

I wanted to enjoy the original game, I really did. I tried to get into it on two occasions, but I never got more than a few hours in.

I’m sure its excellent and I’m sure this will be too. But its just not for me.

I will admit that my Kojima exposure is limited to having played MGS5, but that experience alone made me never want to touch another of his games. The story was infantile and incoherent, the weird (too) macho characters utterly unrelatable. And the gameplay, while initially interesting, became boring very quickly.

Why the hell do I want to play this at all? The first game was so frustrating by the halfway point that I was finishing it more out of spite than anything else.

There’s dozens of games that come out each year that are weird, visionary, and artsy. The issue that I think OP more has is that Kojima kinda seems extremely up his own ass about being artsy. Like Kanye, Jaden Smith, Russell Brand, etc.

By the appearance of George Miller I’m going out on a limb and I’m gonna say that the guitar/sword comes from Fury Road.

can he stop trying to be all deep and artsy and just make a game this time? don’t think about things too hard Kojima, the results haven’t been good in a LONG time.

You spent paragraphs attacking people by inaccurately characterizing their opinions and then try to take the high road by accusing me of doing that.

Moving Joel’s death later would only work if they want to tell a completely different story with completely different themes. What about any of their public comments or handling of the first game would make you think they’d do that?

I would almost side with your argument in terms of the game splitting the fanbase and how the show should be structured to prevent that if you didn’t phrase people who liked it as “gave in to that manipulation”. Can you not possibly concede that people disagreed with you on how the story came across without them being

It absolutely worked. There is nothing wrong with storytelling being manipulative. Complaining about it is more an indictment of the complainer and not the media itself.

It’s been a rough day, and people are being dicks to you because that’s unfortunately the default for the internet. I genuinely feel for you.

So glad to have an exact release date! Been waiting years for this!

Man, Legion is a work of art. Wandavision came off as a pale imitator, as something that could mimic the styles of old sitcoms, but failed to replicate what really made those styles work — for most of its sitcom bits, it never earns a laugh. Legion understood the styles it homages well, though, and hits so much harder

I just don’t get the love for WandaVision, fun at first, terrible towards the end. That ending was beyond cringe, “they’ll never know what you sacrificed”, was as bad as most Youtube hate videos made it out to be, she killed people, mind-kidnapped hundreds? Thousands? All because she lost Vis to Thanos, like literally

No. Just... no.
WandaVision is amazing at the beginning. Then it becomes kinda OK I guess for a while, then gets mostly meh, and most of the finale is absolutely atrocious. Agnes becomes a completely boring villain the moment she reveals who she really is. Instead of chewing scenery as an over the top, nosy neighbor, sh

You should check out the analysis on Digital Foundry. Overall, it’s not a massive visual upgrade outside of a resolution boost to 4K in the Fidelity mode, an option to play at 40 FPS in Fidelity mode, and the ability to push the game around 75-100 FPS in Performance mode with the option to unlock the frame rate. Jax X: Combat Racing for the PS2 was the last non-Uncharted or The Last of Us game that Naughty Dog made.
