Damn dude. Call GM. Clearly you know something their marketing team doesn't, because as amazingly awesome as this car seems to be, they're hardly selling as many in a month as some models sell in a single day. I guess the entire market is just wrong.

A power slide is breaking the tires loose via application of power which exceeds the traction of the tires. This can be done with FWD (though you can't really "powerslide" unless in reverse), RWD, or AWD.

Complexity because on the Volt in particular, you have two entirely separate power systems. Therefore it's twice as complex. Not only that but because of that complexity, almost everything is managed by computers, which means most service issues are not going to be fixable by your average "shade tree mechanic."

.

Aside from the fact that it's extremely expensive for what it is, it's extremely complex, and long term service costs will easily exceed that of similar cars in its categories - particularly if you have any battery issues.

Spewing bile? Really? "Formula-Drift? Meh." and suggesting that Scion owners will love it (as they obviously do) is spewing bile?

Step 0: Know the definitions of "drift" and "power slide." Apply appropriately.

Step 1: don't refer to power sliding as "drifting."

Formula-Drift? Meh.

I was watching it live, as I have nearly every MotoGP race for the last 10 years. I remember unconsciously standing up for the entire last lap, yelling at the TV. It was just that intense. To this day probably the best race I've ever seen. The Italian commentators just make it that much better - Italian Rossi

Now playing

The Italian commentators for Valentino Rossi vs. Jorge Lorenzo's EPIC battle at the 2009 Catalan GP. It doesn't get any better than this. I think they say "Mama Mia" at least 5 times.

Freaking excellent. It's early, but for that level of awesome, #COTD

Somewhere, ShantJ is shedding a tear.

Believe it or not, BMW made an M1 Group B car. That's probably about as weird and rare as it gets short of the Stratos.

I don't always comment on COTD. But when I do, they're completely epic. Mr. Prime, that was absolutely fantastic in every way.

Even for Spiegel this is one of the creepier posts.

Good morning, Toyota!

Bravo, a very good point. It hasn't been since, what, the 60s? Maybe the 70s? That true concept cars had any direct line to production.

That's fine, but will James May co-test it with 1930s Bugatti driven by Brian Johnson?

Since, you know, we can't trust parents enough to know where their kids are. And not run over them and stuff. Just like we can't possibly expect people to unscrew a cap and attach a $10 gauge once every couple of months to check their tire pressure.
