We do, several in fact but producers, the public and pages like AV seem to forget we exist when it comes to us vs “talent”

You really think theres loads of shows with the budget the this had? No this gets cancelled they’re not spending the same budget on another show that all the crew can jump on.
It would be nice but it’s not really how it works. Anything that comes up now will be much shorter and lower paying gigs. This was a long term high end project with serious budget, those are sadly few and far between.
No but they will have been penciled into the better part of 6 months work and will have turned down other jobs as a result. Most productions will have crewed up already so finding a replacement gig the majority of the crew is a non trivial task.
The point I’m making is no one every thinks about the crew. Everyone fawns over talent but their pay grades dwarf crew pay and frankly on a show like this they can afford the hit.
1. Ive never seen a talent contract for a series that has not yet been fully confirmed by a channel.
Fuck the big names getting paid, they can afford the loss of income. No the ones I hope get paid are the crew, hair, makeup, electricians, camera, PAs, location, drivers etc. These are the people that can't afford to loose months of income like this. Talent can take the hit with their pay packets, crew can't.
No You are the pone missing the point here pal. ALegaly a private space is not a public space even if the let the public in. That means you can’t just use it because you walked through it one time. It’s a legal distinction that you seem to be wilfully ignoring at this point. Ive also explained in several posts that as…
Agreed. Although in this case the arguments made above aren’t even accurate for American law, fair use arguments or what constitutes a public space to name but 2. As part of my job (factual TV producer) I need to be aware of what we need to square away access wise before rocking up to a location to film. There is a…
I literally made that point. Thank you for agreeing with me.
My dude, a privately owned space that allows access to the public at the owners discretion is not the same thing as a public space. If you can’t work that out then there is no help for you here. It’s very clear you have no clue regarding any of the laws involved, you don’t understand the concept of “transformative”…
You want to lecture me on factual inaccuracies on my post (whilst not pointing out how) yet you don’t even know what a public space is.
Nope, not trademarks, no TM required pal. Even if your argument was sound (it isn’t) they recreated a hotel on the same street, in the same city, with the same exterior and interior for fucks sake. Even the most casual observer would say it’s obviously the same hotel.
You can, but you'd be wrong like the rest of the CoD fanboys talking absolute shite in the greys. As I say, this is a point of fact that is exceedingly important to the job I every day. Clearances are not small potatoes and in this case they were clearly not sought or secured. They done fucked up.
EA/Activision. IDGAF. megacorps like either of them are constantly stealing the IP’s of others, they are not your friends. The name of the company is not the meat of my post.
My the Cod lot have got their backs up and I’m fucked im Im promoting any of them out of the greys. so here’s some points.
The issue around it “encouraging violence” is entirely moot. The Hotel as a commercial venture will certainly retain copyright on its building and likenesses thereof. This is once again a case of EA and its subsidiaries cutting corners on due diligence when it comes to clearing the legals on designs and this time it…
Gonna put in 2.5 of my own recommendations here.
Nope, thats not gravy. You see, what you’ve done there is you’ve made a lumpy béchamel sauce, just substituting the sausage fat for the traditional butter. I’m sure it tastes fine although it could probably stand a fuckton of black pepper and nutmeg as does all béchamel sauces, but it isn’t a gravy.
These edge lords aint the brightest.
