the producers of this show are BEGGING for this criticism. they could have easily just set the show 100 years after DS9 and would have save themselves from 90% of this drama...

Starfleet, not wanting this to get out, ended up forging star charts to hush it up.
Because I’m not a font of negativity and am choosing to extend the benefit of the doubt until such time that I am actually able to judge the series’ merits on something other than some media reports and four combined minutes of trailers.
I wonder if this might also have been covered by the renegotiations between Marvel and Fox. She didn’t appear until after the deal was in place, but neither did Negasonic Teenage Warhead, and Fox still got first dibs there.
