Nope!

Yes. ANYTHING became worthy because of his presence.

I bet her titty itches now!

It's pronounced the same way here! kee-A-rah.

wasn't she made out to be shady in the movie version?

Thank you for engaging. I'm sorry if I came off too nasty. I have a love/hate relationship with hip hop and have had to let it go for my own mental health. Because it was a refuge when I was younger I tend to take some things personally.

You beat me. I'd walk around the ring with the round card for this.

Absolutely...I was specifically thinking about jazz, rock, blues! This has been happening since the 19th century. I love the Beasties (I'm 37 and was 3 degrees from Mike D in 1985 :) ), but you can't pretend that race/ethnicity, class, privilege and connections did not create the base upon which their status rests.

Holy damn his heart rate. I should have measured my own BP before and after watching this.

I agree with your first paragraph.

But when you look at where the big money is, it's the big releases.

No. Dead Prez and The Coup are still working. The industry has never been black-owned. The shock factor stuff that is palatable to young white males like yourself- that does NOT get political about the lives of blacks - is marketed to your demographic.

Hip Hop didn't start or end with the Beasties, Biggie or Pac or Wu Tang. When whites got a hold of it, the focus shifted to caricatures served up for white consumption and entertainment.

When it became a part of "everyone's" culture, it became hateful towards me.

Kiss those cheeks for me!

...and this too!

Mine...all mine...

If I channeled my mom, the images would probably look like Clair Huxtable sitting in one of those wicker chairs that Black Panther Huey Newton liked so much.
