Because then the tips never quite line up right as the exhaust moves under the car or as the exhaust hangers wear out. When the fake tips are attached to the bumper instead, they always look like they are in the right spot.

Old cars are specifically exempt from California smog tests because people smarter than you realize they’re a small contributor and eliminating them will just piss a lot of people off without solving anything.

Sorry, but small things like that can bring the most joy (other than driving). I’m going to get logo’d ones for my next car, before I only had lights shining down from the door handles. Made me smile every time I got to the car in the dark and the 3D LED lights and the ‘puddle lights’ lit up. It just looks nice.

The Mustang II gets a really bad rap because when it came out every model was underpowered but once the V8 came out it wasn't so bad.
