Great article! I remember seeing this very airplane at SFO when it was with Pan Am. I’ve always loved the 747SP, they’re like lighten sports models of the intercontinental airliner world.

I’ve never understood the mentality of getting really worked up about “proving” the merit of your street car over that of another person. These guys are no fun to be around.

Came here to say this, well done. That’s a Great Little Car.

Model 3P[some number]D with autopilot for me!

Well done, track driving is a ton of fun. Now let’s see a Jalopnik LeMons team.

Love the shots of an H1 rumbling through Princeton!

LOL

I’ve won more than a few races in Miatas.

This is great news! Appropriate that Bristol should use BMW engines, given their history. I can’t wait to see a new Bristol. I’m hoping it’s oddly narrow and looks like a long-nosed Capri.

I’m building my Miata into a fun, “no rulebook” car. It weighs about 2200 lbs ready to roll. I’m eying 300 to 350 horsepower at the wheels as my target power range. More than that will turn transmissions into an item replaced more frequently than the oil.

All is right with the world when you can go and buy a good Miata.

Well shit, might need to put in a deposit.

Oh that’s rich. Well played.

Run what ya brung! You can autocross anything that won’t fall over. Sure, some of the autocross lemmings might scoff but forget them, go have fun.

That car is in great shape. I love seeing high mileage exotics. They deserve to be driven and enjoyed instead of being locked away in a garage.

Clearly, the best thing you can do is go spend more time driving on race tracks. I’d suggest doing some autocrossing to get you up to speed on getting up to speed on unfamiliar courses.

I am immensely jealous. I was driving near Spello a couple years ago and several of the Mille Miglia competitors roared past me. It was incredible.

Attention parkour hipsters of Seattle: If you jump on my Abarth I will cut you. Does someone make anti-parkour spray?

I wish Bristol the best in their rebirth. I’ve always admired them for being among the last of the small car companies born after WW2 still in existence.

Hmm... You and I have different experiences. Granted, I have a short commute (7 miles) and a commuter Abarth for rainy or too cold days.
