@drongch: GM bought Saab in '94. My car is a 9000 Aero and is one of the last "Saab Scania" badged Saabs (when GM took over, they became just "Saab"). The chassis was jointly developed with Fiat, Lancia, and Alfa in the 80s. This gave us cool cars like the Alfa 164 and Saab 9000, and less cool cars like the Fiat

Don't know about this... It says I should spend $42k on a car. While, yes, I can afford that, I'm not necessarily going to.

@SuperZuki: Agreed, however the series 4 cars ('91 +) got the best looking plastic bumpers. My ideal Spider would be an early Kamm tail with the little chrome split front bumpers. Lovely cars.

The last of the real Alfa Spiders: the 1994 Alfa Spider ce. They kept 190 '93 Spiders and marketed them as Commemorative Editions. They were tarted up with a lovely wood interior kit. I'd love to have one someday, if only to commemorate my time selling Alfas.

Even with this new technology, there will still be the tar-brained distracted drivers who managed to gum up the works.

@milkplus: Oh yeah. Speed Racer followed by scab acquisition missions on my Big Wheel.

Like many guys my age, it has to be Speed Racer.

Love it; and not just because I'm a Saab faan.

@SlowMo: There are some scary cliff-side roads in these towns. I think I might take my chances bailing out if my flume-car was approaching one.

Breathtaking footage. How scary would it be to have your car swept away like that? What would you do in a case like that? Ride it out in the car or try to get out and climb onto something?

@LoganSix: Then you'll really like the "Mr. Yuk" I have tattooed on my tongue.

@luisthebeast: Back at ya. I had wanted it for about 15 years. Finally did it when I turned 40. No regrets whatsoever. It's funny when people see it and get it; best was in line at the rental counter in Hawaii, "Don't rent to him, he has a lead foot!"

@Bret: Here's a pic. Many of my LeMons teammates have the same tattoo. We kick it nerd-core.

I have the periodic table of the elements symbol for lead tattooed on my right foot.

Something practical. Now that I'm into my forties, I keep thinking I'll settle into something reliably beige but it isn't happening.

Hi Dan,

@thebullfrog: Let's throw a '' in the mix... Life is too short to be perma-talicized.
