Most people reading this site are likely westerners, not Russians, Chinese, Japanese, etc. (of there are some). "Political correctness" is not the same. I live in China, which is mentioned in the article, it's pretty much non-existant.
Because they are still in the country. I moved to a country with complete firearms ban some years ago. There isn't any gun crime, because guns simply do not exist for criminals to acquire, inside the country, even illegally.
