C'mon Raph, this has nothing to do with being a cyclist and everything to do with being a hit-and-run dillweed. Shitheads are shitheads, no matter if they're driving a sports car, a rental, a bicycle, a unicycle, or a pair of worn-out sneakers.

I'm not going to defend this guy. He is an isiot and the reason why cyclists are seen as a nuisance. I have both a car and a bike, and I use my bike as I use my car...stop at red light, don't try to squeeze in between cars, etc.

Disagree. 500 Abarth here. The noise and bumpiness teaches the kid to sleep through anything. The limited space teaches you space management. The car size means you can park anywhere there is a resemblance of a parking spot (NYC/Brooklyn here). Great MPG and great fun for all three people involved. And now that he's

Dad of two boys (5 & 2), and I can attest to our 4 door GTI (6 spd manual) as a very practical and fun car with two kids. Hauls kids in two car seats, stroller, groceries, and even occasionally a few things on top.

Father of two. We have taken many successful road trips (day and multi day) in a mk4 jetta gli. I agree on the "paid for" and 4 door, but not the CUV. A minivan would be nice, but we certainly don't *need* it.

Strollers can fold. And dads can bend at the knees.

And that was in the larger practical lotus. Imagine the looks when you show up in the compact model. At the grocery store. With a 4 year old.

If I could I would pay someone to call and dead with my health insurance company for me so I don't have to.

Yeah you're right. On reflection I realized that he (Tom) does provide a great service to those who don't want to tackle the car buying process by themselves. I enjoy it but obviously most do not so my comment was pretty thoughtless. I apologized.

Hey, I explained to Mr. Power that you indeed take back your original comment and that you did not mean any malice by it. I requested that he put this argument to rest, I hope you do so as well. (I get all the notifications on this thread)

That's awesome! I rarely get the chance to interact with someone who takes it upon himself to do all his own work himself.

Yes but what you don't take into account is that the person hiring Tom doesn't have to go to the dealer and saves time and you know what time equals don't you? Money, so if your 5 hours is worth more to you than what Tom charges you come out on top big time, he gets you savings and saves you time at a dealership. I

Some people are willing to spend hours to cut and maintain their own lawn. I hate that and my time is more valuable. So I pay someone to do it. You have the skills and patience to haggle for your car, so you do it. Part of the reason I write all these car-buying articles and give my knowledge away for free is for

Calling crossovers "SUVs".
