I’m sure when Rocco doesn’t clean his room and Madonna yells at him he just says, “Mama, don’t preach, I’m just expressing my self. Stop yelling at me I’m here on holiday. You’re being a borderline schizo. You should thank your lucky star for a son like me. I’ll remember and cherish our time spent together, open your

Carole King’s reactions throughout the tribute were the damn best. (Well, that and Leslie Mueller, who I saw in Carousel here in Chicago some years back and she's fantastic.)

Well, this is a thing. Wow.

about time

Well, my sons are all grown now. Not very long ago I was talking with my middle son and I said to him that I hoped he and his brothers grew up knowing that I really loved them all unconditionally. He just look at me with a little smile and said, “Mom, I think we all get that.”

Teenagers can be capricious and utterly without mercy.

Rocco = REBEL HEART

Jezebel is nothing if not hypocritical.

Not that it matters, because I’m not your target demo, but I don’t mind the offense heavy nature of the sausage making here. What bugs me is when it appears inconsistent.

I think I am okay with her bandmates staying silent on the subject, as painful as that is for Jackie Fuchs. As a forty six year old who spent many of my teen years at punk clubs, incredibly fucked up, I don’t know what I could possibly say if I were in this position. If my friend Sharon announced in the press that one

Hope it’s based on the Massie book. Catherine the Great brought the smallpox vaccine to Russia and had doctors inject her with it so she could show everyone that it was safe and effective. She was pretty amazing.

I’m with awkwardturtle on this one. The movie is corny, imperfect, weird and sometimes inappropriate. You know, like love. I revel in my shame.

People are nit-picking and looking for reasons to find it offensive, I love it too. It’s a great Christmas movie.

I do too! I feel like people are really...militant about this movie, for some reason? And it doesn’t really warrant it?

I feel it’s more of an American thing not to like that, I don’t know why. The characters are all so awkward and aloof and not entirely likeable, it might be the reason. Or some cultural elements? I don’t know. I think it’s one of the best of the rom com genre.

God. Fucking Sarah. LISTEN TO HOT SHIRTLESS CARL WHEN HE GIVES YOU GOOD ADVICE ABOUT HANDLING YOUR BROTHER’S ILLNESS.

I’m with you. I truly believe that Thompson’s scene in the bedroom is among the great pieces of acting ever put on film. Total heartbreak, immediate and devastating, survived.

I always cry when Emma Thompson implodes in her bedroom (with Joni Mitchell in the background), when Olivia Olson sings All I Want For Christman, and yes, during God Only Knows. Always. Every time. Sometimes I also cry during the intro, depending on my mood. Yes, I’ve seen this film probably every year since it came

I fucking love this movie and I don't care who knows it. Liam Neeson and his adorable step son are EVERYTHING.
