I mean, the Al Franken thing kind of indicates that a man’s career CAN be derailed by bullshit accusations - but only if he’s a Democrat. Republican men get infinite passes, and the media refuses to actually cover their other criminal acts, like perjury, money laundering, and racketeering, because that’s not sexy…

There’s also the tiny detail that this guy lied under oath about receiving stolen emails and using them for political gain. Lying under oath should get him impeached, and possibly imprisoned, not promoted.
