Yup. I also grew up in a big family, and there was a lot to love about it, and I’m grateful for my siblings. BUT. There was plenty of not-so-great stuff about it too (overwhelmed parents, not always enough money/attention/etc to go around), and I’m not willing to totally put my life on hold for 20 years like my mom

It’s very, very pretty, and it will convince you that if you can’t renovate a historic farmhouse outside Concord, Massachusetts, you might literally die of grief.

I know at least two same-sex couples (both ladies) who changed last names, including my sister. Her thought process was that her wife’s last name was an unusual (but not unpleasantly so) one, and my SIL has a small family so it doesn’t have many bearers, whereas ours was both super common and there are a billion of

Here in Mass (and Boston specifically), we’re going to be paying $48k a year next year for two kids in daycare. That is not a typo. Forty eight thousand dollars. In one year. We are extremely fortunate that we can swing it, though just barely and only because we haggled our daycare down from their initial estimate

“Another problem is research has shown animals can become quite addicted to sugar,” she said. “They are going to seek it out regardless of whether it is going to be good for them or not, so they can become quite aggressive.”

Came here for this correction, was not disappointed.

Socks are great for just kicking around the house, but once you try to cram them into some shoes? Total garbage.

I completely support you on the elastic waist, but we part ways on the drop crotch. Always looks like a full diaper. Pass!

As A Mom™, I seriously cannot understand the whole “mommy blogging” phenomenon. Who wants this? Who reads or cares about it? Like, I do like to talk to other moms/parents about stuff, in person, and commiserate and what have you, but I legit could not care less about some stranger’s kid, or their deep ~*FEeLiNgS*~

Yeah, I’m fine with shoes generally but let us unite against the true enemy here, pants. The best is towards the end of the summer, I’ll sometimes stop and try and think of the last time I wore a garment with a fly and can’t remember.

This hat, I have seen it before.

Where in Mass are you finding it? I always drag a few pounds of pork roll back with me to Boston after visiting my ancestral homeland, but it’d be nice if I could find it locally.

Santorini is gorgeous, but insanely crowded. I’d say stay on one of the smaller islands and do a day trip to Santorini (there are tons of ferries); they’re all beautiful, and it’s nice to have a home base that’s a little less hectic. We stayed on (and loved!) Paros.

I’ll allow it! And agree!

Paul Rudd has always done it for me ever since Clueless. Top celebrity choice. I think my Paul Rudd feelings may actually weird out my husband a little, but tough shit, husband, we all have our things. Paul Rudd + beard & glasses = definitely would.

I hadn’t seen this before, but I am richer now for having done so.

What, is Chris Farley not availa-

I didn’t click the link and was very confused about what Brit’s little sister had to do with anything. Thank you for clearing this up before I had to actually look myself!

Yeah, I never went to daycare as a kid either (my mom was a SAHM, and when she worked once in a while we stayed with friends’ parents), though I did go to Headstart and actually remember it pretty clearly- I think it must have been a good program. But Headstart isn’t available to nearly as many kids and families as it
