The biggest example being President Obama, who looks like a non-mixed black man.

I’m pretty sure they’re all just models and that isn’t their kid.
Yeah, because every mixed race person has cafe au lait skin.
When what he meant was, he was able to ignore his racist attitudes until Obama became president, and realized he didn’t want a black man running the country. THANKS OBAMA.
My eyes just rolled so hard they fell out of my head
Right? I have any number of friends here in the Bay Area who have directly experienced racism here, and we’ve talked about it, and it’s like WTF? I mean the San Francisco police department was recently busted over racist garbage running rampant between the officers in email and stuff. And just because somebody is…
Err... As a multi racial person who looks pretty white, with a 100% brother who looks 0% white, I need to (again) remind non multi racial people that we sometimes look multi racial, and we sometimes don’t. (For reference, see Jordan Peele and Troian Bellisario.)
Because all biracial people are light-skinned?
Kids from bi or multiracial marriages don’t always look ‘mixed’. One of my friends (a black woman) is married to a white guy and of their two kids one looks 100% black and one looks 100% white. Genes just do what they want.
What I find funny is that plenty of successful white people had led sheltered lives and become flabergasted when they reflect said life on their culturally ignorant views.
Adoption and step parentage exist. Also why are you policing their skin color? You don’t know their heritage just from looking at them.
I don’t know how they don’t know. Surely they’ve at least been in the scenario where the racist person assumes they will agree because they are white. Looking at you ex-coworker who loved to rage about “the Hindus” (who could basically be from anywhere in Southeast Asia and I don’t think she realized that Hinduism is…
You would have thought that after all the stories about racism, people would realize that racism like this does exist in *gasp* 2016. And then they have to mention “i live in a liberal/diverse area and i did not realize that racism like this existed, i only read about it in story books.”
That’s pretty presumptive - just because the kids are light-skinned doesn’t mean they’re not biologically related. Genetics are really, really weird.
...sheltered from it if you are white. People of color, however, experience racism in the Bay Area all the time, every day. Like W. Kamau Bell at the Elmwood Cafe in Berkeley, or Rasheed Albashari and his friends at Lake Merritt last December, when a white woman yelled Islamophobic slurs at them and threw coffee on…
My mom gave it to me in 6th of 7th grade!
This reminds me, my husband didn’t know what Flowers in the Attic was about and chose to watch it last weekend when I was out of town. He reported back that he hasn’t been this emotionally disturbed since Blue Lagoon.
That's in the eye of the beholder. As a soon to be bride I would be thrilled with such a thoughtful, personal gift. He describes a varied basket with gourmet oils and pastas, and fun sweets to eat on the wedding night. I think it's great!
So you snicker to each other and get the fuck over it.
It's a LOVELY gift idea.
