The last 2 seasons, they’ve been operating without GRRM’s material, and have completely dropped the ball. They are failing to explain motivations (why did Dany lose it and burn the city? The “seeing the red keep” excuse from after the thrones didn’t explain her rage well enough at all), constantly changing the rules

It’s Confederate that makes me flabbergasted that she’d bring them into SW at all.

Ok so then the main character we’ve grown to love over several years goes insane for no good reason and ki ... oh you’ve already done that too?

this is the “why don’t they make the whole plane out of the black box??!?” of NBA analysis

As always, I am hesitant to reply to comments with the knowledge that the Kinja system elevates Staff contributions and thus the comments themselves, but I want to address this since I’ve seen it pop up a couple of times in my notifications.

But at least it’s a franchise with better prospects than Detroit.

The ball going into the basket was quite a process.

We got a mega dose of characters acting stupidly and out of character. Jaime is just going to leave his main challenger to slowly die of a stomach wound? Arya spends most of the episode running around. Jon continues to be the worst military commander of all time. Dany goes completely insane. Tyrion keeps talking about

I’m not against Dany going ‘Mad Queen’ per say... but having it be done when everyone’s surrendered seemed like some lazy writing to force Dany v. Jon.

Next episode-

So, after eight seasons, the theme of the show is basically “bitches be crazy (or victims).”

I’m having such a hard time wrapping my head around D&D deciding to end it with two short seasons while HBO was completely fine with full 10 ep seasons for 7 and 8, and even wanted more than that. Like why rush to the end like this?

I don’t give two shits about basketball but 1) that’s cool as shit and 2) someone in my timeline posted this and it’s a Top 10 all-time sports photo:

Credit where it’s due: Emilia Clarke has usually not been much more than a decent actress (though I’ve often defended her from critics who assert she’s bad, which I don’t think she has been), but she has been absolutely wonderful this season, even as the writing for her character has turned into a trainwreck.

They completely undid Jaime’s arc.

What an utterly baffling episode. It’s almost like this show got cancelled and the producers clapoed their hands and said, “Mm’k, let’s get this shit over with.” And then proceeded to finish the series out in the most basic way possible while ignoring 90% of the built of mythos of the books and the last 7 seasons

Honestly maybe even worst served than Dany’s arc was Jaime’s.

What in the seven hells was Jaime’s plan? Did he seriously want to run back to Cersei, even when it was clear she hired a hitman to kill him? The framing of their death being tragic was really weird.

So the bells made Dany into a crazed mass murderer? I understand her going off the deep end, but killing hundreds for no reason struck me as forced.

That ball spent so much time on the rim Derek Jeter just proposed to it
