I saw Tomorrowland last night, and it certainly was an epic disaster. Annoying characters, random plot, and a deeply stupid premise - that the troubles of the world are caused by a failure to believe in the shiny corporate utopia promoted by Disney and the 1964 New York World’s Fair. After all, that utopia actually…
Damn. Had no interest whatsoever in Tomorrowland, each trailer for it made it look worse and worse. However I am quite miffed that its poor reception has caused an End of Line for Tron 3. Loved the first Tron movie, but I must be one of the few people who thought Tron: Legacy was a far superior film. Uprising was ok,…

I seem to remember we were specifically told NOT to go to Europa. It's like no one pays attention to alien signals anymore.
The problem is that stuff doesn't translate well visually. Foundation was always driven by its big ideas, not its characters or their interactions. A TV show will be forced, by its nature, to focus on literally the weakest aspects of the story.
The fact that it's entirely understood as the product of electrochemical interactions in the brain, and that "love" as we speak of it is an entirely subjective emotional experience with no existence outside our own internal subjective reality.
What the book series had going for it was its premise and the slow reveal of the big ideas that underpinned it. A TV series is going to have to focus on characters and their interactions, which was always the books' weakest link.
Science fiction should still be based on science. Show me one scientific indication that love is a physical force like gravity, and then we can talk about applying that idea to science fiction.
This....does not strike me as a literary work that will translate well to film.
I consulted with several psychohistorians, and they all say the same thing. Chaos leads to chaos.
I don't think that's how it works. I've never seen reason come out of chaos before.
Do you like how she switched it to Christian-Judean instead of Judeo-Christian, because GOD FORBID THE JEWS COME FIRST
