I half agree with your sentiment. My one issue is this argument is based on the idea that newspapers should exist. They made a mistake and the market forced them out as we seemingly find free news outlets across the internet, including this site.

As a Kentucky fan, this is embarrassing; however, it has illuminated to me that too NCAA refs make $3,000 a game and so something of around 100 games a year. That seems like quite a bit.

I’m surprised by most of the critics of this as this is just the naturalization of media. Slowly we’re all going to OTT’s and media companies will spoon feed us new movies. It takes away from much of the experience but I don’t see an alternate outcome.
