My ‘72 AMC AMX had a 14 gallon tank, and got ~13 MPG, which meant I could just make the commute home 180 miles away. 36 gallons in a car that got, what, 10 MPG?  that’s a whole 360 miles per tank.  my Mini could almost go 500 miles per tank.

I can say with Confidence, that I would be getting in and out of the car EXACTLY like he did.
