3M makes a great kit with various levels of Sandpaper and Compound that hooks up to a drill. There are refill kits availalbe as well. I’ve used it on 3 different cars, and it’s easy.

Yes, you can actually mail the passport in for renewal in two fashions, regular and expedited (which costs more money). I had let mine lapse and got a new one for a business trip in 10 days.
