Precisely - I saw the first Ocean’s movie (well the remake, not the original with Frank) and yeah - it’s a piece of fluff and fun. It’s supposed to be. And for it’s this reason I don’t see more of them even though this cast looks awesome.
Yeah, I mean all the previous Oceans movies were the same way: pulling off a heist in a cool, effortless fashion. The appeal is the style of it all and the reveal at the end of how it was a pulled off. It’s a formula by now.
Yeah, all the male reviewers who criticise this film for not being perfect can get fucked. Women are allowed to have fun and indulgent films made for them that aren’t romances.
Yeah, this review makes me want to see it even more. I want to go to the theater and indulge in a fantasy that’s just *easy.* Real life is goddamn complicated and hard enough, my heist movies can be candy.

I haven’t seen this movie, I haven’t seen the George Clooney reboots, I haven’t seen the Sinatra originals. But I don’t think any of them are supposed to known for their realism or complexity...so I’m not sure I get the critique here.

You are complaining that this oceans movie is an oceans movie. George looked hot at his parole panel too. Scott Caan and Casey Affleck behaved the same way you are complaining about the women getting out of trouble.

That’s sort of what I thought too...they look good and get the easy win. I mean, that’s honestly really no different from male-led Ocean’s movies. At least the newest ones - I haven’t seen the originals.
When I saw it, the whole cast (minus Rihanna :/) surprised the audience in the theater by showing up and watching with us. I think I was too starstruck to even notice or care how about how lightweight the plot felt at times.. But it was still a fun movie and the cast is amazing.
I know - why can’t we just have a slick, completely unrealistic heist movie? There’s an ‘expert jeweler’ character. Nothing about this is supposed to be relatable, and that’s fine.

Yeah I thought I would hate it based on the description but then I watched the trailer and it legit got me in the feels.... I will watch this.
