And what if they are JWs refusing to pay for your transfusion?

Being able to have sex without getting pregnant is not really optional. There is a medical (and social, and ethical) need for women to be able to have sex and avoid pregnancy. There are a lot of other meds designed to restore male sexual functioning that aren't 'medically necessary' unless you consider a being able to

I guess if I don't want to feed my kid healthy food that's my choice but it doesn't mean it should be lauded as an empowered or preferable choice. Most moms want what is best for babe and if these articles at least offered some insight into how women can identify and overcome barriers to breastfeeding it would be a

Oh god you did think about it. I like your idea but I disagree about the power part - I don't gain power from menstruation, I gain it from a myriad of life choices, education, family, friends, etc. If I could stop the damn thing forever I would. I really cannot understand how people think it's empowering to feel like

I went to Catholic school and have a fair grasp on feminist philosophy and they really do seem incompatible to me. I am sure you can imagine some obvious examples as to why. One that bother me is in Canada the Catholic Church is refusing to pay court mandated 26 million dollars to the survivors of residential schools

In theory yes but that just opens us up to a whole lot of big-brothering and censorship. I'd rather be harassed than censored. Besides there's always ways to circumnavigate the threat of prosecution.

Come on, she could be like one sixty fourth Cherokee or something.

I wish there was more research into using dogs to sniff out ovarian cancer. I work as a palliative nurse and it is a particularly unpleasant one. Those mets are harsh, smelly, painful, grotesque....you can actually see the cancer come out of the body in some cases. It's my biggest fear.

Holy fuck. It is so very clear you know nothing about breast cancer and the BRCA1 and 2 genes. It's not just cutting off anything that might get cancer, it's cutting things off that are more likely than not to get cancer. Who are you to judge? Alive, I guess.

Feminist Catholic, you say? One of those terms is not being interpreted how I learned them.

And now we can all be grossed out too. Way to go.

They're both disgusting, but for very different reasons.

That's fucking hilarious and strangely made my day

By this logic all women (who menstruate) would by 'synced up' globally. Every woman getting their period at the same time in the whole world. Just think about it.

I guess it's worse that I am a woman and kinda thought the same thing.

I love all these people trying to convert us non-Falafel lovers. I've tried a myriad over the years, and they all disappointed. Wrong mouthfeel every time.

Aboriginal people are the target of most Canadian racism. Just check out the comments on any relevant story on the CBC.

I notice an often misinformed, yet subtle ongoing campaign against breastfeeding here. It's interesting, because it's the one area in health that has almost unanimous research saying yes, most new moms can successfully breastfeed given the proper support (lots of info available with a quick Google) and breastfeeding

Middle-older aged people aren't really marginalised so yeah, not really the same thing at all.

....because being a nurse is somehow less than being a doctor?
