“It felt like I had to give my daughter a chance at a future,” said Huffman. “And so it was sort of like my daughter’s future, which meant I had to break the law.”
Father Curtis: Oh, well then it’s simple. You’re both going to hell.
Puddy: No way, this is bogus, man!
That chimp’s alright. Hi-Five!
no nick tortelli? get out of here
Has no one at the AV Club ever heard of David Puddy? He is not just some dumb grease monkey you know.
I really hate that we feel that celebrities owe us a public statement regarding the deaths of their friends. People need to mind their own business and let them grieve as they feel they need to.
I think we certainly expect a lot of the actors to be democrats, but the execs? The rich white men? No one thinks they’re liberal.
Aside from well-known conservatives, like RDJ, Adam Sandler, Tim Allen, etc all continuing to get work and, in many cases, are beloved. It’s almost like ‘Hollywood’/people don’t want to work with box office poison, complete assholes, etc. with many of those people also being MAGA chuds (which is completely on brand…
Hollywood is not aligned with any ideology other than the one that maximizes profitability.
It’s a standard tactic for these guys. It’s misused mathematics, and you can’t argue with maths.
As I’m sure many can attest, one cool thing about having friends and/or family in “the industry” is you get a lot of first-hand gossip.
No, that was Superman II, where he gave up his powers for Lois and was completely oblivious to the three Kryptionian criminals conquering the U.S.
I’ll never forget the massive letdown that is AV Club: The Kinja Years.
I too like money, so this article really speaks to me and my money.
Yeah, but in the actual interview the focus is more on how romcoms push the idea of romantic entanglement as, like, the goal for women. The term the Guardian uses is “uncertain about wanting kids”, so it comes across as less about not having kids itself than about a woman’s lack of commitment to a particular kind of do…
I don’t think *good* rom coms are reductive to women since they’re about people who want to find love finding love and don’t always even confirm they get married. And in some rom coms the conclusion is that they don’t get together. It really depends more on how well the characterization is for everyone
I think Jury Duty pulled off something amazing, and the last episode when they reveal what’s really going on to Ronald just made it this funny sweet show.
Coolidge was better this season IMO but it’s still a very one-note performance with a handful of moments of clarity required. Meanwhile Seehorn’s spent the last half-decade getting overlooked for what people seem to agree has been the consistently best performance on TV.
I’m already prepared to get unreasonably angry if Coolidge beats Seehorn at the Emmys.
