After watching The Nevers and Death and Nightingales, I will say that Ann Skelly is a delight.

Short answer: no.

No, I would love to work my way through the entire original series again someday. So it and its characters certainly stuck with me.

Game of Thrones lasted roughly a decade, so it’s hard to compare that with a movie which was in theaters for, I’m guessing, months.

I don’t know if these spin-offs, which don’t have the advantage of several novels worth of great characters, plot, and dialogue to borrow from, will be able to recapture those TV fans. Book fans like myself will still tune in, if only just long enough to complain about how the shows aren’t as good.

I dunno, in some ways I guess.  But it did give birth to certain references (Winter is coming, the red wedding), etc that Avatar never has.  I think a lot more people remember the character names in GoT anyway than they would for Avatar (granted, they spent dozens more hours with those characters...)

I think the idea that it’s been forgotten is contradicted by the sheer number of people who keep saying it’s been forgotten.

It wouldn’t have been dropped from discussion so quickly had it not been for the last season, primarily.  The show-runners decided that they wanted to be done with it so that they could move on to Star Wars, so they abandoned the type of writing that made GoT work as well as it did previously, in favor of moving…

I never watched any of those shows, but I was curious if anyone would attribute the end of Housewife to Julia Butters leaving now that she’s been in a Best Picture nominee.
