Every father should remember that one day his son will follow his example and not his advice —— Charles Kettering.

‘- When did Greg tell him about the incriminating documents he saved?’

I know this season was written and shot months ago. But tonight, more than any other episode, had me gobsmacked at the mirroring of current events. A family dynasty of a soulless patriarch and the siblings who stop at nothing for their means to survive at whatever the cost is so incredibly  Trumpian, it’s remarkable.

This. To hell with the inevitable cries of “ageism” that we’ll be hearing from Bernie’s supporters. This job sucks the life out of those who take it seriously. Remember how quickly it wasted Obama? Now the public will be considering that for a man in his late 70's who now has cardiac issues.

I wish him a speedy

I didn’t have a history of cardiovascular disease until I had a heart attack on my birthday four months ago. Like Bernie, I had a stent surgically inserted via angioplasty in August, and was back on my feet pretty quickly (though the post-op prescription for Plavix takes some getting used to).

All my savings says that Trump will make some jerk-off comment about this on Twitter. We’ll file it away under the ever-growing “no shame” category.

Greg’s ‘Shut up’ is the line of the night. Dude’s feeling his oats and realizing he doesn’t need Tom anymore. But he seems to be falling apart just a bit...the cocaine thing last week, his weird microphone testing this week.

I am 100% Team Shiv (sorry) but I was not liking the last couple of episodes of her being, to my mind, written in such a way that I thought was not quite honest to her character, specifically a naivete in gauging the sincerity of her Dad. And this episode was going there again. A brilliantly acted lunch conversation

And don’t forget Shiv commenting cavalierly about the time Logan “beat Roman with a slipper until he cried.” In Gstaad, was it?

Fun fact: Several years ago I visited the Hearst estate at San Simeon, and to my surprise / delight, the audio tour that plays on the bus ride to the estate is narrated by Alex Trebek. He sounds just as pleasantly condescending as can be.

There is a new Roy Cohn in town...........

Marla Maples as Dot’s mom was an.....interesting casting choice.

I don’t think it’s right that they cast Scarlett Johansson. Surely, they could have gotten a real Nazi.

I realize in this political climate, there’s no possible way this film won’t be divisive, but all that aside, it looks so charming and absurd, like Moonrise Kingdom by way of In the Loop. I look forward to ignoring the conversation around it and just enjoying a new Waititi film.

I think Liz is a little better off. She sort of has to be

Opposite viewpoint: PEN15 was so good, but also so cringingly real as a former awkward middle school girl that I found it still hit too close to home that I had real trouble getting through it, especially the Maya centric points. PEN15 is probably the objectively better written show but I think that this movie’s going

But it’s MALICK!  C’mon...

This looks a might bit good, dare one say?

I love a lot of Malick’s work but I haven’t seen anything since Tree of Life.  I have to be in the right mood, but he’s a filmmaker who can mesmerize me if the timing is right.

I loved Song of Achilles and second this recommendation. It’s definitely a lot less fun than Circe since Miller has a much bigger mythological sandbox to play with in Circe (Daedalus and the Minotaur? Sure. Titans? Definitely. Medea? Why not!) but the smaller scope of Song of Achilles made it more emotionally affecting
