This show has been a wonderful and needed port in the pandemic storm. A year and half where the world took a pause no doubt inspired many to take a look at their lives and see if they liked theirs, or were ready to try new things and fix their flaws. And here comes a warm, compassionate, funny character dramedy about

Heads up: You guys forgot to write the woman’s first name.

Good point regarding Ava’s growth. Yeah, she needs more self-awareness and introspection. The writing for the all the main characters has been smart, perceptive and empathetic. The producers had a tricky line to walk in rounding out Ava and Deborah—who in presentation come across as jerks, but in fact are really

Imagine if the Republican Party were a person. Based on the party’s behavior and beliefs, what kind of person would it be? Our dumb news media is basically taking into consideration the concerns of a violent, delusional criminal who’s a pathological liar, not to be trusted, and with a religious hatred of Democrats

Oh good! I watched eps 7 and 8 last night. The cold open of the former played around with an idea I had while watching the pilot. I thought then it would have been bold for the show to go there. It didn’t—the context of ep 7 seemed to foreclose that idea—but I’m conflicted if I want to see them actually run with it in

Only for informational, journalism purposes, this write-up could have mentioned his age.

Change the false, slanderous headline. Ellie Kemper does not have a “racist past." She went to a ball when she was 19 years old. Be better.

Siobhan of Berkeley. If we're not getting a Nice Guys 2.

This finale brought the show’s themes together in a poignant way. As her therapist explicitly said, Mare’s inability to deal with her grief over her son’s death made her a very committed detective, which brought justice to a murder and two kidnappings (saving the lives of the kidnapped women). But it destroyed two

I like The Nevers a lot, too. This half-season’s finale deepened True, making her story more poignant and interesting. I hadn’t seen Laura Donnelly’s work before—she’s terrific.  So is Ann Skelly as the lovable Penance. I like the camaraderie of this group of heroes.  I like the cinematography and music, which can be

As I’ve said in the reviews, the whodunnit for me is the least interesting part of the series. I’d happily watch a dramedy with Winslet, Smart and Rice as they live in this kind of blighted by drugs town.

Is Game of Thrones the TV equivalent of Avatar? Very popular while it was out but quickly forgotten after it ended? I’m talking about the TV, not book, fans. Maybe I’m wrong but it seems the pop culture zeitgeist has moved on and these spinoff projects might not be the hits their studios are expecting.

Plus a very forced way to link up to our TV show review which has nothing to do with the story.

“Hey, you have the same name as the author of Paradise Lost! You’re not Satan, are you?” (Laughs)

No Heather Cox Richardson? Maybe she wasn’t approached.

Ha, Blunt gets a Brooklyn accent only when she pronounces “Jaws.”

There’s a party-pooper and trite grad school paper on entertainment about good looking women with guns, blowing people away, is an example of empowering feminism, but on male terms. Or something. I’m being facetious.

This story brings up a good point: more American local news stations should hire Australian reporters with cute accents (or was she from New Zealand?).

Ironic! Or irenic!

This school district seems a lost cause. Take the advice from Ripley in Aliens and nuke it from space.
