Wait... so in this game, you can get any of the best gear in the game by killing almost any boss? How is it an effective tactic to grind gear from a lower-level boss, instead of from higher-level ones?
He says the story is complete...
It’s a free game, isn’t it? Why would they sell a box?
“Talking shit is probably one of the only fun parts of this boring ass game. I might as well play the box if you want people to act like robots, Riot. I wonder if [Riot] understand[s] that the root of toxicity is the game, it’s just not fun and it pisses people off.”
Hm, that really sucks. I guess it makes the costumes something silly to play around with in making levels. I was more hoping they’d be fun skins to play as, basically just a pure aesthetic form of what Super Mario Crossover did. Given that the only use for collecting them is being able to place them in levels, and…
I don’t miss that at all. Those things were massive eyesores.
I’m kind of disappointed in these sprites. They seem to be breaking the actual limitations of the NES. I can’t be sure if those colors are actually part of the NES palette or not (though they look suspiciously unlike NES colors, on some of them) but I am sure that a sprite like Bowser (with a good 8 or so colors) is…
Oh sweet, that sounds handy. Having no quick visual indicator of the physical orientation of the button makes it a bit harder to quickly figure out which one to hit in long strings of different button presses. One of the handy things about Band Bros, at least in DX where it was a bit more pronounced, the face button…
Apparently the list of what music you can actually make is pretty restrictive. Thankfully not as bad as it was in DBB DX, where game music was very rare to find, but still, there’s weirdness like being able to only make songs from F-Zero X and not any of the other games in the series. I’m not sure how true you need to…
Pretty much my reaction to the overbearing use of Dark Souls references coming from the girl. I guess to be fair this is probably one of the more accurate portrayals of an immature character I’ve seen, because this sort of annoying self-identification with a popular niche (ie. can’t stop injecting FNAF into every…
To be fair, you’re talking about real-world scenarios in which people don’t have sci-fi energy suits that let them absorb plasma, completely diminish incredible physical force, and even protect the wearer from the heat of being submerged in lava indefinitely. Not to mention the Chozo DNA and other weirdness going on.
Is there an option to tone down the sound effects on the button-hitting? It’s fitting enough in some songs, but in most of them I feel like it’s just overbearing, or at least much too loud.
My whole experience with the game since I started has been everyone around me always being much higher ranked. It’s getting slightly more common now that I see someone under my rank now that I’m up to 17, but even back at rank 3 I was exclusively seeing rank 20+ playing against me, and I was smashing them. It took…
The font itself isn’t awful, but the size sure is. Kotaku feels really weird to browse now, because so little text fits on-screen.
#9 (really role-play) changed The Elder Scrolls series for me. For Skyrim and Oblivion especially, do it with #1 (no minimap/compass) as well. It’s very easy to get sucked into the game world, and roleplaying within it is just a small step away from how most people play TES games. You don’t really need to come up with…
People don’t watch Let’s Plays for the game. They watch it for the personality of the players. (many of us don’t even watch, we just listen to it in the background)
Why is “boss with a trillion HP” being slung around here like it’s an original or interesting concept? You don’t have to be a game designer to realize you could take any RPG and add a static number of zeroes onto the end of every number in the game and it would still play identically to how it did before.…
You make it sound like paying the $8 IAP for infinite credits basically gives you infinite lives. It sounds like it would break the game and make your play session infinitely long and ruin any opportunity for leaderboards to mean anything. (well, it seems IAPs almost always kill leaderboards, but they don’t have to)
