I don't think VR is niche at all. 3D requires at least one major compromise in its use and all it does is add depth to your images. It's no better looking than going from 480p to 720p, really. Is that worth a much more expensive TV and having to wear special glasses (possibly over your normal ones) just to use it? Or

Okay, let's say I have cameras all around me watching everything I do, every thought I have, etc etc. Worst possible case scenario, with the only benefit being that the data they collect can't be used against me legally for anything. (IE. they can know every click of my mouse, every keystroke of my keyboard, but those

I'd say my basis of judgment isn't on that part, it's on the 'killing dozens and losing one of humanity's last chances at salvation' thing. It's a decidedly more gray area when you're not just saving a loved one, but having to murder some of the last remaining medical minds in this apocalyptic world (and destroying

I came for the butthurt. Not disappointed so far.

You didn't really need to say any more than that first post, because it got a point across without rambling or digging too deep. Once you started responding the way you did... yeah. Remember, the only people who can take away your post's stars are those who already gave them. It's not that the disagreeing "fanboys"

I'm all for screwing with mindless fanboys, but look at your recommendation stars. Notice how your first post is actually more agreed upon than the ones responding disagreeing with you, but then your posts dropped to nothing while everyone arguing against you got a ton of stars.

Jason, I expect better of you. You should know better than most people that VR is not taking over anything. VR is a new platform. It's something that will exist alongside what we already know and love, and probably intersect with it a bit, but it's not going to overwrite what already exists in the industry. It

I love the idea but in practice I find that it's just too easy to stumble through it and do well. I've not had the pleasure of playing the original game because they made it iOS-only so I played a simple clone of it. The thing is, in my first play I managed to get what felt like a good score, combining to some high

Ah, well. I enjoy my job of doodling crap for money, anyway. Even if it doesn't pay too well.

Looking at this closely, it appears as if the artist mixed in some photos with the hand-drawn stuff. It's kind of hard to tell what exactly happened right here, honestly. There's a bit of a messy mix between tight, sharp shapes and blurry stuff.

Yeah, there's a certain level of BS that an artist can get away with and this is well within that tolerance. I can at the very least say that this looks cool and required a lot more planning and difficulties than most people might recognize.

Yeah, it bothers me, but with this I would think at least some higher level of skill went into making it. I doubt that just anyone could plan this out and execute it nearly as well. It doesn't show well at first but when you really think about what it would take to pull this off, you really would have to put in a lot

If I kill you do I get to take your job?

Yeah, if it wasn't clear I was speaking of 3D as in polygonal and 3 dimensional rendering capability, not the 'one eye gets a different image than the other' 3D which has been used off and on throughout the last 100+ years. That 3D honestly didn't open many doors to new things, so much as it improved on what already

I like your Toy Story analogy, but are we STILL stuck on the false notion that these silly headsets are going to replace screens and change gaming as a whole forever?

The guy writing words on the internet for a living, or the guy who was (presumably) paid to adhere a ton of perfectly shaped objects together in an aesthetically pleasing way?

At least this is both visually interesting and by the looks of it, super hard to do.

Someone forgot their happy pills today.

Oh god what the hell is he wearing?

Something that worries me is how this technology handles stuff like heavy foliage. You can take all the time you want but that tree and that grass is going to move in between shots, and the pictures you're getting won't have everything put in the same orientation.
