I suppose one reason is because the camera needs to be straight down for a lot of vertical portions. There are parts where you can see down in a dungeon to a lower depth, and places in the overworld where you might jump down from somewhere, and they wanted to keep it functioning in that respect as much like the

Well, let's hope you enjoy the games I make as well. I'm actually on track to have a pre-alpha of my current Castlevania-esque action platformer (I say that coming from that post of mine a moment ago - it sounds a lot more derivative than it is but I'm super tired and it's hard to put down exactly what I'm going for)

That's always bothered me... why haven't smartphone games caught up in quality to normal games?

It looks super tiny and uncomfortable...

Uck.. I can't in good conscience support a game that so blatantly steals from its source material like that. I can see it right now: it's a passable Zelda clone, but passable only in the sense that there's nothing else out there in that ecosystem to really judge it against, so the closest comparison is actual Zelda

This is just such a mess I don't even know where to begin.

I fail to see how it's so important to perfectly understand the oppressor's lives.

That's one of those things I don't really understand about feminists a lot of the time. Looking at her videos so far in the series, it wouldn't be easy to create a story (regardless of whether it includes women, or men, or both, more of one, or similar numbers, etc) and have it be something that she would approve of.

No, that's exactly the point, though.

Though, after watching the video, I can say I wholeheartedly agree that defining a female character in a male-dominated game by her stereotypically feminine qualities is both damaging and stupid as all hell. I can't stand the fact that the only female Koopa is a walking gender stereotype, whereas all the male

I don't think he's dismissing those claims, he's just pointing out that it's coming from a point of view (race- and gender-wise, if you're not a part of the oppressed class it CAN be harder to understand their point of view and realize how different certain aspects of life that you take for granted can be for them)

Don't lower all feminists/equalists/whatever to the same Tumblr level. Some of them, if not perhaps most of them, actually have some level of reasoning. You can have a discussion if you try, and if they ignore everything you throw at them, I guess just tell them to go back to Tumblr.

There are some places on Youtube where real discussion DOES happen (Fine Bros, Idea Channel, Nerdfighters, many of the science channels) but you are right... I'm a sucker for getting wrapped up in the human garbage that is commenters in a racial/gender/religion fight. It's a massive mess every time. >_>

Agree but not agree.

Interestingly enough, there are almost 2/3 likes right now, so there's at least a good amount of positive reaction in there. Of course a ton of people disliked it before listening, though anyone could have seen that coming. There's a lot of people out there who hate her guts for various reasons, and follow her only to

Cool refutation, bro.

Okay so I paused the video to start up something and it landed on this... I just had to share this little gem with all the Sarkeesian lovers out there. :>

As much as I hate those characters that are basically just female versions of male characters... in almost every instance I can think of, both characters are so basic and/or devoid of personality that the female copy-paste isn't far off in terms of design and conceptualization, simply because the existing male version

To be fair, if for whatever reason I was targeted by someone with a car, I'm fairly certain my capacity to see what's going on and to react to the situation, to realize a car is coming my way even based on sound alone (granted, I live in a small town where it's not like there's constantly noise everywhere) would give

Did anyone else think of the possibility that he might just be talking to the ESRB, not to Kotaku?
