I'm still bitter.

I win.

This is stunning but man alive do those shoes look painful.

Amen to this. My little cousin is 7 and loves science, asks her dad to give her math problems in the car so she can practice mental math, and refuses to take of her purple princess dress most of the time. She hates things that don't have glitter. I hope that she holds on to both her love for problem-solving and

yes, sexual dimorphism is a thing. glad you guys decided to stop ignoring science.

No shit. Welcome back to reality, everyone.

Oh someone needs to catch these people up on "the law".

It would suck for my child to get an ear infection. Can you imagine having your poor child deal with the discomfort of an achy ear and having to take antibiotics when they could have something as mundane as measles instead? Srsly, u guyzz!

1. Neither the level of misogyny in the song nor the level of shame that the copyright older feels about the song diminishes their rights or their ownership in the song.

1) It's still the Beastie's song. And, according to Goldiebox, they were doing the commercial as a "comment" on the song. So it's very much about the Beastie's work and intent, regardless of the company re-recording the song.

It's disturbing to me how people are buying the "Mean Old Beastie Boys" thing hook, line and sinker. Goldie Blox is a for-profit company marketing cheap pink crap with a completely disingenuous feminist veneer, and they are using a tactic common to copyright infringers. Goldie Blox brought the original suit, just

Regardless, both are unacceptable. And the tone of these articles has been obnoxious.

I'm going to steal your shit now. Don't worry, it's for a good cause.

Yep. Legos (pink and otherwise), knex and erector sets are still way better engineering toys for girls.

So a band that has been against their music being used in ads not only has their music used in an ad without their permission but the company also sues them? Who are the dicks here?

Saying that the Beastie Boys are ruined to you in one breath and referring to Adam Yauch as "a dead guy from their band" in the next? Yeah, you sound like you were a real fan.

It's really too bad that GoldieBlox toys are so stupid. They aren't well made, they're not particularly fun, and they have no "replay" appeal. The commercials are far more clever than the actual products.

A dead guy from a band? Really? Have some respect. Beastie Boys don't owe GoldieBlox anything in the least. If anything their loyalty should lie with their deceased band mate.

I don't think they're being dicks. It was incredibly presumptuous of GoldieBlox to just use their song in a commercial without obtaining permission. Like the BB's said, great product but they can't just steal it and then hope they get away with it. That's not cool.
