Yeah, used to have a beltronics sti i kept in dark mode with remote. I had my car at the dealer for service so i took it out, was lazy putting it back in, think that following week I got my reckless. I feel like it would’ve potentially helped me avoid it, and i dont think i would’ve passed the state trooper haha. Now

Bingo!

Why stop at the nose cone? Make the whole damned plane out of the stuff the black boxes are made out of!

technically you are correct, it is a... vehicle (...retch)

If the cars got their “2.0" update, that pretty much fixed like 80% of the gripes with the car and the keyfob not working...

My ideal meme fleet is becoming a reality.

Yeah, I did quick math and it failed me... But there’s not much basis to draw from by comparing it to just Rivian. Should have more base data about other more established brands to give us a better idea of what is average and what is higher than normal.

Yeah they haven’t all been like that. I sold one car to a guy who owned a Chinese restaurant and he showed up at my house with $8,000 cash in a bag, which he counted out on my dining room table (and yes I know it was dumb to do it at home, I was young).  I’d love to see that guy’s tax returns.

Those secondary markets already exist with tradesmen & mechanics running fence for crackheads on cats & wire to the recycling yards. The crackdown needs to come at sentencing when the courts actually pin someone for theft instead of handling them with kid gloves.

Interesting and makes sense. You might be able to “return” inventory, but the manufacturer/producer marks it as sold once it’s sold to a dealer/distributor. So it’s a different business model.

Selling a car via a private sale is an eye-opening experience. I was contacted individually by several Middle Eastern guys who seemed to know each other (one knew what I had agreed to discount the car to for another buyer). I couldn’t figure out their angle and ultimately sold it to someone else because they felt so

And even without the repo scheme, the BHPH dealer generally is able to sell the note for more than they paid for the car at auction, so they literally don’t care if the buyer is capable of making even the first payment.

John oliver did a show on a Kia Optimus Prime that got sold something like 4 or 5 different times with that process. It was quite alarming to watch.

Got popped at 135 in a 55 on Interstate 580 in East Oakland on my VFR. The cop was furious, but he wrote me a ticket for 81 mph.

The “I’m a dad who just made his last court-ordered child support payment” car.

And it shouldn’t have to be subsidized (through building inefficient infrastructure, supplying you with cheap oil, etc)

The dealer is just asking for this customer’s friends to throw a couple of dozen river rocks at their cars in the wee hours of the morning. I would never suggest that anyone do anything like that, because that would be illegal, and morally wrong. She should sue him in small claims court. Let the legal system

I know someone who ran a BHPH lot. This is exactly how it works.

Inara George’s voice in the Van Halen tribute album is like David Lee Roth’s chops combined with a sultry lounge singer.  She’s a unique talent, for sure.

As they say, being poor in America is expensive.
