Yeah, except that whenever I take my car in for service, they switch the lights from “auto” (which also works perfectly for me, 100% of the time) to “off” and then I don’t realize it until the next time I drive at night. Argh.
1960's Italian steel rusts so easily, that a car in this condition is noteworthy.
because they be dumb
It will be much closer to the second one, especially since they won’t want to wreck these multi-million (billion?) dollar test vehicles. Now, if they are willing to really let loose and we can get some dangerous maneuvers at 100-200 MPH without the worry of human injury, that could be awesome. It could also be equally…
sounds like Toyota got it right early on. Nissan for sure did not.
Now do away with daytime running lights that only light the headlamps. Nearly every day, I see someone driving at night with their DRL on, assuming that since they can see ahead of themselves, and their all-electronic dash is lit, then their tail lamps are also lit (they are not). Dark vehicles in unlit areas are…
Turns out preempting any sort of automatic action will be faster than waiting for the ‘proper input’, and in the case of use of full beams, it’s going to be much, much safer. All I can hope is this will prevent asshats from constantly blinding me because they don’t know what the blue glyph on their dashboard means.
Just a casual reminder that motorcycle deaths are up 21% from ten years ago and that, while they only drive 0.6% of vehicle miles traveled per year, they make up 14% of traffic fatalities. It is true that there are more motorcycles on the road now than there were ten years ago, but it is not a pro rata increase…
I am not condoning any of this but I would pick a good ol boy drinking a tall boy on the way home from work than the people watching Reels on their phones while driving.
I’ve always thought having a 30 yr mortgage and you make as many principle payments as you can (when you have good cash flow) is the move. A 15'r doesn’t give (as much) much wiggle room.
Cairn Terriers are great dogs
Of course not. And while TikToc can tell them that this exists, knowing that won’t do anything for them. Just another click.
Damnit beat me too it
But the lawyer said they’re totally inconsolable with even the thought of it :’(
No, no, no.... you can’t bring that whataboutism here. /s
You are effectively getting a discount of whatever your *marginal* tax rate is, assuming you have enough income in that marginal rate. So at the high end, that is 37% currently. On a $100K vehicle, that is effectively a $37K discount. Not exactly chicken scratch, and the alternative is you are just giving that $37K to…
They wouldn’t be able to figure out the forms to do it anyway. And a legit paid preparer will reign in the worst excesses.
I want to say Chrysler PT, but as I look at photos to add (which you can’t do anymore on Jalopnik, is no one working on fixing the code?) I might be wrong. Is it the precursor to the Murano convertible, or a cheeky runabout?
