Ahh, that tracks with Tacoma launch. I forgot the Hybrid version came like 3 or 4 months after the gas version on that too and these are the same platform/drivetrain except no manual on the T4R.

Yea, there may be some markup on them. Not sure how long that lasts because Toyota is going to want to pump them out. May be more on the upper trims which should be the first to arrive to some extent.

Yea me too. Seems like you dodged a bit of a bullet. I was semi-interested if these things got to sub $10k. Like if it charges and drives, I wouldn’t care about any weird or non-working stuff, but I think that “if” is a big one it seems.

Almost has to be the case.

Yea, not sure that one makes a ton of sense. But people do really crazy stuff, although I am pretty sure this is just the Ocean taxi thing, which is crazy in and of itself.

To be fair, there are essentially NO new 4runners available in the entire country. But that should change in the next month or so. Hertz is just following the pricing for these models, though the Mach E’s do look a bit high.

There should be a little asterisk there on the “Among all cars sold, the 1950s F1 machine is only second to the Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR Uhlenhaut Coupé, which sold for $143 million in 2022.” line. Or add in “at public auction” or something like that. Since there are other cars that have sold for more in private sales.

Wasn’t the company that bought all the remaining stock at BK planning on making them taxis in NYC?

Wow, this lasted even less time than I expected.

Too much for this car. If they think it is worth $105k, they should put it on BAT with no reserve and see what it brings.

I mean, I think Canada doesn’t do refining because the US already had the ability and building out refining and export infrastructure isn’t cheap or easy. Plus, the Gulf coast is way easier for shipping due to weather.

Yea, I was kind of making a joke on how people just automatically get something huge when they don’t really need it.

I was just saying that base to base an Escape is like $10k less. That difference can be made up in a bunch of different ways, finance offers can help there with 7%+ on the Escape and 0% on the Mach E, but I was more wondering how the OP was making up that difference to say a Mach E was cheaper to buy and own, but it

Hmm, did not know that concept name.

Yep, assembled in the USA baby!

Yea, that is what I was thinking. Didn’t realize they got hit with a fine on that one.

No jingles or mascots! Whooo.

Refining is a shit business, there is a reason why it all gets done in a few places. Shipping crude is way easier.

Well aware, just stating that Canada has two options, export or shut down production. I am not in support of tariffs, just saying there is a larger chance they continue to export vs stop production.

Good info, I have NJM too. Just switched a year and a half ago and saved me so much money over state farm. Home insurance went up like $200/year, but my auto went down like $1,400/year or something insane.
