Haha, I send my oil to Blackstone too! I am just about to hit 284k and everything looks good so far. All reports are consistent. Depending on work travel, I do 15 to 20k a year most years. Want to get to 300k and then we will see.

There is a FB group that is literally titled, “No Title cars for sale”. It is as much of a shit show as you can imagine

Yea, that may honestly be true for me too. A normal year for me is probably about $100 in maintenance, 2 oil changes (I do my own) and engine air filter. Those are the only two things that would be really any different than an EV. I did have to do a radiator, timing belt and I did have an ignition coil go up. But over

Yep, you got it! That is exactly where I found it.

ATM and cash payment not available in that case?

Yep, I agree with that. But the dumpster full of water isn’t possible in most cases. I am not a fan of just letting them burn due to environmental issues, but using water isn’t exactly harmless either. Just kind of a mess. Hopefully reduced auto fires rates in EV stay the norm.

It is absolutely NOT theft in any way shape or form at this point. Now, if someone can prove they are theirs and you refuse to return, that could transform into theft, IMO.

I got some bad news for Dele...those air pods are no longer his, they have been claimed under the international law known as “finders keepers, losers weepers”. Also, calling this person a “thiefand saying they were “stolen” makes this dude sound like a prick.

Them Tikity Tok’s ain’t gonna watch themselves!!!!

Yep, exactly. We have so much rural area in this country that full-time fire fighters just can’t work and we are now expecting volunteers to take car of it on most likely minimal budgets. Honestly, I think just trying to move a burning EV away from anything and letting it burn is the best way. Although environmentally,

1st Gear: Of course they aren’t prepared for EV fires, I am not sure anyone really is honestly. I think the rate of fires should be lower than ICE cars. But as EV age that could change.

NP if it checks out and you are going to keep it for a bit. These things will be worth very little in 5 years.

And they probably stacked it to show that you can get “*up to $18,750 off your new Ram F2500" too. I work in advertising, so I have fun with those disclaimers in my head.

I know this sounds kind of like an asshole thought, but for the first few years when I was out of college I kind of thought about what you typed in a very literal sense. If someone was asking for money, I could literally say (in my head) I had a negative net worth and unless they also had significant debts, I had less

Yep, that is why lenders are willing to do 120% (or more!)LTV on new car purchases, roll that negative equity baby!

Ahh the old “rebate stack” gotta love those. I make jokes about them all the time. You need to be a retired military vet that recently graduated college, is trading in a competitive OEM model, have a 750+ credit score, play squash on Tuesdays, watch cricket and be a supporting member of the ASPCA and have your AARP

My maintenance costs are approximately $100 a year on my hybrid and $50 for my wife’s. Hybrids and PHEV’s also use brakes around the same rate as an EV. My wife’s has never had them changed and her car is 10 years old with 86k miles. Mine I did front and rears once over the past 140k miles or so.

Slide 10 made me chuckle on the last line.

Yea, it seems to be a pretty well documented issue. Simple fact is EV’s are heavier than a comparable ICE car in almost all cases. Couple that with the instant torque and you will wear through tires faster. It just is what it is for now. That may change in the future though.

Yea, I guess it is an oxymoron. The US gov has, but in a much more limited capacity. We just had a few banks fail over the past 2 years and a ton of EV makers are on their way out with no sign of intervention. But the US gov isn’t also aiding them at every turn.
