@billysan: So true, but the environmental effects did it for me. The lighting in pretty much all the levels was outstanding and really made each enemy encounter cinematic rather than arduous, as many boss battles turn out to be.

That's so mean! Vent can't be that much of an imperitive to play, particularly if you've played with some of those people for 4 years. Guild leader = a top dickhead!
Reading through the comments its hilairious to see how many people feel guilty about enjoying koei's hack 'n' slash games.
I don't think I've ever got any more than about 30% of the collectibles (flags, feathers, w/e) in either of the previous games. I hope there's a map layer which can show you where you've found flags etc, previously.

Doesn't sound boring at all! Iwas a massive fan of transport tycoon, its a different kind of resource management game. Gotta love the hypnotic smoothness of a fully functioning transport network.
