Yeah, I never bought it at full price — even though it looked incredible — because of the short playthrough time I was reading about on some reviews. (If I can pay $20 for Minecraft and build forever, why pay $60 for 4 hours of game?) But the replayability that the "dying lowers your score" mechanic creates is

Oh my god, Vanquish! Got it for $15 off newegg and started it up last night. I'm at Act 1-7 and have already died like 20 times, and I'm loving every second of it! It's like Gears of War meets Bangai-O. That boost!

I dunno; Ballistic is pretty gorgeous it its own, simple way. (you've really gotta watch it in HD to get a feel for it.)

So there's Doom, Doom 2, and Doom 3. You tell us that you don't think Doom 3 is a good game, and then you go on to let us know that you haven't liked a Doom game since Doom 2. Redundancy!
